You can keep the chrome for a few years then when you get bored of the chrome, switch to black or to some other new fad that comes out.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
Seems like a good argument could be made that the Chrome was a fad.
    Just saying...

You could argue that, except, most manufacturers still produce lots of chromed vehicles. We bought a Nissan NV van a few months ago. They have three trims, most visibly distinguished by the amount of chrome (higher the trim, more chrome it has). Work trucks tend to be more blacked out (in any brand).

Any after-market parts in chrome tend to be more expensive than black ones (which probably is the reason why work trucks are more blacked out). Chrome is also very sturdy. They use chrome for hitch balls. The quality of stainless steel also depends directly on the amount of chromium it contains. 304 stainless has a lot more chromium than 409, for instance. So functionally, it's pretty cool material.

I happen to like the chrome look on silver truck.

Most chrome on vehicles these days is a film on plastic and has little to do with chromium. Glad you like the look. Many people do.

If you're keeping the wheels (or going with something similar) I'd do black handles and mirrors. Black pro insert (keep the chrome surround). Two-tone bumper.

Just my personal preference as you can see from my pic/truck.

Dark tinted windows. Keep a nice black and silver theme.

File Oct 11, 6 11 16 PM.jpg I voted black but I have some chrome. The bumpers and the grill surround are chrome, the grill is the grey color that came with the 14's.
