Just a mentioned from past experiences. On coilovers, we find ourselves having to put more preload in than normal for 100 pounds. Although, we aren't spraying it, we are getting the vehicles after the fact.

Our last vehicle we did work on was pretty cool, it was an armored Chevy suburban, with a total weight of 26,000 pounds loaded with people. It was bulletproof and the Line-X added an estimated 700-800 pounds. BUT it was also a complete spray, wheel wells, under chassis, etc. Extra thick on the outside.

I'm not a huge fan of the texture of Linex. For that amount of money, I'd personally wrap it. Flat black or grey. Protect the paint for a few years and then remove it when you give the truck to your kid. I don't know how hard the upkeep is, but it looks awesome as shit!!!

I agree! A truck is not going to be perfect forever. It's a truck its supposed to have scratches.

    Flux capacitor!
I called my local line x shop to ask about the line-x ultra. He said it requires a special machine that is very expensive. So he isn't going to carry the ultra line since it would take a lot of people to cover the cost of the machine. Personally I really like the matte wraps a lot. The line-x I would consider on my truck if I was hitting the trails or off-road all the time.

supposed to have scratches... yes... but when it's a 2015 and it is holding every scratch when the wind blows, it's hard to take pride in it.

I'm loving the WOW factor it has. I've been known to use my truck like a truck, so I'm not sure how good the wrap will hold up. I don't even know if it's able to be touched up.

I've always wanted to flat grey linex my truck. I think it looks so bad ass if you can get over the texture.

Plus, yeah, you'll have to pressure wash it... But in the grand scheme of things that's not too bad if you already do a 3 stage wash, then wax and rainx when you do clean. For me, it seems like it almost would reduce cleaning maintenance.

As others have said, no banishment for opinion. There are ways you can turn an option into something that is banishable, just don't twist it that way.

I think the line-x is pretty ballsy. You should probably go with wrapping it. I work for a printing company in Vegas and we have all of our vehicles wrap and it handle the sun/heat just fine. It's been about 4 years. We just didn't wrap the roof and the hood. Just a thought.

I'm getting my front end caps wrapped this morning, that's what I'm hearing 4-5 years they last , but what had me concerned is does it fade and scratch over time? I was thinking about powder coating them too if the wrap don't hold up. The installer l said it will take them 1-2 hours to wrap 2 end caps? I's that right?

It should take about an hour or so to wrap them depending on how skilled the vinyl installer is.

For the scratching, let's just say you have a better chance of scratching your paint versus the vinyl. The vinyl is pretty durable when it comes to scratches. There are options to get lam on the vinyl which will add about another 5 years of life.

For the fading, you need to make sure the installers are using the correct type of vinyl. I recommend 3M. From my experience, their vinyl are superb! You can pretty much get it in different colors. I don't think it would fade as long as it is not printed vinyl.

Good to hear it holds up, I'm guessing I can't run my 6 inch Griots polisher over it though.

I've been saying it's badass for a couple of years lol. pulling the trigger on the right person to do it is a rough one. Cause it's not really reversible.

So that translates into, "I can get a deal on a wrap through you"? lol. I'm going to either wrap it or line it, haven't 100% made up my mind. But I'd definitely want my wrap to last longer than 4 years.

Yes you can. I can recommend one of 3M's finest certified installer. Let me know if you want to pull the trigger and I'll get you in contact with him. He is located in Costa Mesa. He goes to your location.

Pretty sick but not reversible. You can probably paint the linex different colors if you get tired of the matte black. Lol

What was the original color of your truck? I have a white truck was thinking of doing this but I think it will look weird if I do it in black and when you open the doors all you see is the white door jams

Well... It's not my truck. Just my idea of a good looking truck. haha

It might look a little weird though. The rule of thumb when wrapping is choose complimentary and like colors. I would assume this follows that particular rule. Only you are going to see the door jams however. So if it's really the look you want, you're the only one who has to live with it.
