ahh ok I see. So if I want a P rated tire I cannot get 285/70R18. That definitely limits what i can get.

x2 vote for the MT Baja Boss ATs... I don't believe they are making a 285/70/18 in them yet, so that leaves you w/the 295/70s or the 275/70/18s....

If you don't want rubbing issues or having to deal w/your speedo being off by 5-6mph, I'd go with 275/70s

That Grabber in 275/70r18 is a unicorn; only one I see in that size that is standard load. Cheap too, only ~$250/ea. Check what reviews say on different sites. Falken AT3W 285/65r18 comes in standard load too, but costs a fortune for some reason. Also in lieu of better info, speed rating for a particular tire size isn't a bad proxy for rolling resistance. If you do decide to go for an LT, get one with an "S" speed rating or higher.

About half of trucks I see in Maine forests are Tundras on Grabber AT/X. This is actually how I learnt these tires exist ;)

They are good at highways speeds, too. Getting from Boston area to NW Maine wilderness in my older Volvo on KO2s was a nightmare - very loud. Not sure it's KO2 or frame-less Volvo... Tundra+Grabbers combo is quiet.

I wanted to convert to narrow Falkens, to an "almost 35" size (to keep stock UCAs) to get a better ground clearance in snow, but then I bought a winch and don't feel I want bigger tires anymore.

You don't even need a lift for 35s... really. Guessing you are talking about 285/75r18 and you mean UCAs? Those are actually larger diameter than the tires called "35x" which are typically only 34.6". 35 to the nearest inch I guess...

Right, UCA. I forgot which 35 tire I was looking at, in tirerack specs sheet, but I subtracted 35's width from my 33's, divided by 2 and that was how much space I needed between the rubber and UCA. This space requirement was more than I measured on my truck. Looking at Falken's spec sheet, they would fit.

People mount 285/75r18 on stock rims and they work fine. The UCA wouldn't help you anyway, you'd need a rim or spacer to move them outboard a little if you had UCA clearance issues. 295/70r18 works on stock rims too.

Spacers are illegal in Massachusetts. Don't want to change the wheels just to fit a fatter tires. Falkens were a good candidates for all stock, but really the winch killed the whole 35" idea. Maybe I still get them, for better traction spot when aired down, but Grabbers are only 20k miles.

295/70/18 - Wlidpeaks - 2020 TRD Pro - stock suspension. Went with the Wildpeaks because I’m in CNY, good in snow and have a mileage warranty.

I’ve only had them on for a couple of days now and noticed that each trip I take is down round 1 MPG. I normally get 14.5 and I’m at 13.7 after 2 days. I’ll update after the full tank and see overall how MPG changes.

Looks good; we don't see that size come up in discussions that often. You should post of few more photos showing a head-on view (poke) and a side-on view (wheel well and height)...

Probably an error. I don't see 295/60r18 in any searches, and it would be slightly shorter than stock.

Hey Everyone. I just bought a gray TRD Pro 2020 on Monday. How much modification is required to run 295/70/18s without rubbing? Can it be done with the current suspension. If not will 295/70/18s work without changes?

Would consider changing UCAs to accommodate 295s?

    Thanks in advance.

Very little, and your current lift is more than enough.

Sorry Vic, I some how missed this. Usually I don’t. Lol. Yes 21 is the same 2020. Nitto ridge grapplers. Not my first set had them on my 4runner Pro. No rubbing at all with 285/70/18 tires on the stock wheels. I’m going to try and get my tires mounted this week on my SCS wheels. That will change the look. I may also be removing my westcott lift because I don’t plan on jumping up to 35’s. Happy with the tire size I have.
