I’ve had my TRD Pro for a little over a month. Early on, I noticed when looking at the truck from the front, the tires appear to be leaning out at the top. Drove fine, so wasn’t concerned.

On December 21st I had a new set of tires installed. Today I ran my hand over the front tires, and the outer tread is wearing on both driver and passenger side. Feels cupped or high/low from one lug to next. This is after 1200 miles.

I’ve seen posts regarding the positive camber. Has anyone had the dealer check the alignment? Did they correct as a warranty issue, or say it’s within spec?

Yes. Same issue. Toyota checked alignment for free. Said it’s in spec. Falken said to take back to dealer so they can work something out? I need to get that done.

but yeah not crazy about the camber/can’t that front tires have.

Is the spec different for the Pro? I believe the only comments I’ve seen regarding the camber, are Pro owners.

My previous ‘22 SR5 did not have noticeable positive camber. It held the road and tracked great.

I had positive camber after installing 6112 and the same tire wear issue. I had that adjusted to a more neutral camber. Wear issue seems to be resolved now and the truck looks better from the front view.

I think the track is different on the pro but I believe the alignment specs are same.
When it’s visibly cambered inward by eyesight I can’t see how they say it’s ok

Too much toe in will also give the same cambered look. How’s it drive?

It drives fine. Doesn’t wander, or pull. Ive had the toe issue before and could feel/hear the scrubbing. Not feeling anything like that.

I’ll have Toyota check it out and report back. Will make sure they acknowledge the visual cant.

Looks like the TRD pro has different alignment according to the spec sheet. It runs just over 1 degree of positive camber with a tolerance of +\-0.75 degree.
Other 4WD models runs only half a degree with same amount of tolerance. So can get 0 degree with other 4WD model and still within spec.
TRD pro it would show out of spec if you were to adjust to 0 degree of camber. The alignment spec sheet:

Perfect timing! I’m going back in to have mine redone this morning. I had installed the aftermarket springs from @GeneralSpring which gives me a 35% payload increase. So buddy had done the same to my truck leaving too much camber. It tracks fine but the minute you start to corner it really takes off. Plus a visible positive camber just looking at it. I prefer a little extra caster as it makes it track much better especially once you add 8-10,000 lbs with a trailer, that will take all your caster away once you squat the back end.

thanks for the spec sheet @TakiEvo

I don’t even bother with the dealer. They think that because it’s with in spec or all green that it’s fine. I take my truck to an independent alignment guy, that’s all he does. He’s told me dealers bring him tundras to align because of tire issues from factory. Reason number 1,287,459 why I stay away from dealers.

amen! As long as they show green on screen they don’t care. I got to coast tire here. Dedicated tire shop and they have the newest laser alignment rack from hunter. He’s done my last 2 Toyotas which has always eliminated the rounding off of the front tires that Toyota is infamous for. Outside and inside shoulders are scolloped and down to wear bars, and centre of tire still has 12/32’s tread left.

I have the same issue with my falken tires on a 22 Trd pro. Falken tells me it’s Toyota‘s fault Toyota is telling me it’s Falkens fault. Any chance you can give me the dealership name that is aware of the alignment spec change? Falken said Toyota admitted to having an alignment spec problem and that they were rectifying in May of this year. Had a significant blowout on the freeway this weekend at 20k miles.

Dang. That’s straight sidewall failure. TPMS would surely tell you if you were u fee inflated which is the only thing that would normally increase the risk of this. Those factory Falkens look like weak sauce.

Check for nail hole anywhere on that tire. Looks to me like it has been run low on air and is a run flat.

My truck, not a Pro, is having the same problem. My local dealer offered me a rental car and said they'd take my truck for an entire day while they research the issue. Straight front the service manager: Toyota is aware of the issue with extreme outside tire wear and is trying to research solutions.

My tires are wearing. I drive in northern VA/wash DC and do turn lazy/sharp sometimes, not all the time I go slow in the neighborhood and on base. This truck had the steering rack replaced when I bought new in Dec 2021, 5k miles later rack was loose and a dealer fixed the rack and did an alignment. I don’t tow with the truck. Rotated every 5k miles. At 27k miles, would like to get 40-50k out of these tires, thoughts?
