Maybe I said that weird…I was referring to the % difference in heat rejection stats

Sorry, getting old, and working until 2AM and not getting enough sleep was not a good combo.
Correct, I just read that line with the one the bottom and was like, I didn't know installer would charge for different % tint..... my bad....

All good …good convo also like hearing what other tint guys tell there customers

I think solid shops don’t charge more for darker tint….but a lot of these new ‘franchise’ setups focus on sales …not service
    & ill start the ☕️!!

My price didn't change on tint darkness. Only went up for film heat rejection quality.

Here's how mine looks. I went 50% over the rear 22% (measured at the install) factory glass for an effective 11% and 20% on the front. I didn't do the windshield as we drive a lot at night but still considering it.

Side note: I need to wax my truck!

I never charged different for darkness %. Also I'm not a business, just did it on the side since I was 16. And not like everyday but enough I got decent at it.

Just had mine done, did 25% 3M tint on the fronts about as dark as I can go in Minnesota without getting pulled over all the time. Left backs factory and they are just a little darker was going for as close of a match as I could get. Did limo tint on the rear window. Ill post some pics in a bit.

Ceramic all around. 70% windshield, 35% fronts, and down to 20% for the rears. Here in Massikastan 35% is legal limit for front windows. Pricing was higher for ceramic vs. non. Makes quite the difference in terms of the amount of heat, def. recommend it.

Those 15% front sides make the 50% windshield look so much darker lol. I bet they're supah dark under the sun
( Guys keep in mind that darker side windows will heavily affect the windshield shade)

Did you meter it or just base it off of spec numbers?

i just based it off what the tint guys told me. i like to believe we live in a world where people wouldn't need to lie to you, especially if your business name is quality tint.

I meant, did your tint guy meter it or did he look at specs numbers on a paper, lol. Of course, I wouldn't see any reason why the business would lie. I've been hearing 28% VLT (metered) all across the board (for 3rd gen Tundra) and thought that 20% was suspiciously darker

    Royal?

I just called them and made an appointment, I stumbled on this post after I hung up and searched here for "Rayno" to decide what I wanted to go with ahead of dropping off this Thursday.
