Ok. If you need a close match. Here is I used on my topper.
ORACAL Series 970RA Vinyl Wrap Film W/Rapid Air | Gloss Charcoal Metallic | 970RA-937
While not exact, it's not that bad. There is some that is supposed to be a perfect match that's 4-5 times the price.

I have an appointment tomorrow to get my '22 DblCab tinted and I'm trying to decide how to do it.
I am told the tinted factory glass on the rear doors and back is 20%.

My first option seems to be to add a layer of 20% to the rear doors and back (making it effectively 4%) and them match it with 5% on the front doors but that is pretty much murdered out limo tint and darker than I really want for a few different practical reasons (even though it would look great), not the least of which is that in my state 35% is the legal limit and while I don't think the cops care much they might if it was really obnoxious.

I am now considering going 35% over the rear doors and back (making it effectively 7%) and using 20% on the front doors (unfortunately my tinter doesn't have anything between 20% and 5%) which would make the back really dark and the front a little lighter so a little more user friendly at night and less of a ticket magnet.

I don't plan to tint the windshield as we drive a lot at night and I like to see what's in front of me although my tinter is trying to tell me that even a 70% tint will help a ton with heat and early morning / late afternoon glare without limiting night vision much.

Anyway what do you all think? Any input, allegory or advice is appreciated.

On my '19, I put 5% over the rear doors, dealer already had 35% on the front doors, I went ahead and put 20% over the back glass and on top of the front desk 35%. Also did 80% on entire windshield and a decent 5% strip at the top. When my '22 comes in, it's supposed to get the same minus the 1st layer of 35% on the front doors. 70% would be the darkest I'd go on the entire windshield. I've had 35% on my CRX including windshield. At night in the rain, I couldn't see anything but the lines reflecting light. If there aren't any city lights, it sucks.

Every officer and locality is going to be different. 5% is dark. No you wont be the only one with it on the roads but it also gives a solid reason to be pulled over. I personally like the 20% all around look. Having the front match the back is worth it to me.

Also, I'm on team No Windshield Tint. Not worth it in my opinion. Plus, if there were any accidents that you're involved in, that could...could....put you at a liability risk. Obviously all semi worst case scenario.

My last truck I ran 15% fronts, and 50% over the rears... Rears were just a touch darker than the fronts, but it was close enough...

We likely do the same when I go next week, but also at 70% to the windshield, and see if they'll do 15% on the sunroof also...

We put Llumar ceramic tint all the way around minus the windshield on our 2015 Chevrolet SS (just the legal limit no darker) and it has made an enormous difference in comfort during the summer.

Don’t half ass it ladies and gentlemen, if you tint spring for the ceramic tint. It really does keep the heat out. On bright sunny day that I would turn up the AC or fan in my Tundra to be comfortable that SS with ceramic tint barely has the AC or fan running once it’s cooled down inside.

Ive got 25 percent ceramic 3M on my front and 40 percent on the windshield. Great match in my opinion and is needed down here in Florida.

informative website, but it actually doesn't list all the information for ohio, 70% is allowed on windshield , 5 inch strip at top of windshield is not regulated, Meh they are close
i actually looked up the ohio revised code for the tint laws for when i get my truck, have only ever gotten 1 tint ticket in my VW and it was from a state trooper

I have 15 on my fronts and 50 on my windshield. I have no visibility issues whatsoever.
    Edit: 35 on my windshield

Been tinting for close to 20 years…wanted to chime in …
The rear Yota factory glass usually meters around 28% ….kind of lighter than the American made trucks/suv
A 18-20% on the front doors is typically a good match but coloration varies from manufacturer to manufacturer
A lot of our customers do 18% on the rear glass which usually brings them down to around 5% on the meter
Occasionally we will just do 40% on the entire truck …gives a ton of comfort and benefits from tinting without the dark look
I’m in Coastal NC …it’s hot …and at our shop we only offer ceramic automotive installs
We do not do 5% on fronts and don’t really do windshields any darker than 70%
I know how you FLA, TX and CA guys roll…:crapstorm:hahah ...but have to have some accountability as far as a installer and shop owner
Best advice don’t get sold on the brand but remember the hands that install it need to be legit too …. Appointments are nice …you want a relaxed installer that is ready for ya…makes the jobs flow better
Oh yea …we hand cut every pattern !
    Plotters are for poofs!!

I just did 35% on the front doors and on the back it went on over the top of stock. I was told that made it 12% for rear doors and back window.

Can you share a photo of how the windows look? I am debating going 35% or 50% over my rear windows and back glass, and thinking of going 20% on the fronts.

My tinter uses Phantom Ceramic film. I am weighing the cost to benefit ratio of their S5 (Heat Rejection Between 53%-58%), S7 (Heat Rejection Between 70%-81%) and S9 (Heat Rejection Between 91%-93%) products. Each step up adds about $125 to the cost for a 4 door truck (windshield not included).
What would you go with if you were (always) trying to find the balance between quality, function and cost?

My wallet tells me S7, but my brain say S9 and buy-once-cry-once.
The HR does matter, depending on where you are. Here in the hell of Houston,TX, even S9 is just barely cutting it, much less with S7....
Your budget will determine your final install, but if it ain't an issue, get S9
Front windshield, your call, Houston calls for 50% not because for the hell of it, it does wonder rejecting heat up front.

Thank you! Appreciate the feedback. It all makes sense. I can kind of fit the S9 into my budget but I'm always looking for savings (although buy once cry once is a great saying). I live in Central Oregon where it gets pretty hot for a few months (with a few super hot spikes) and then it's mild in fall and spring and frozen for a few months of winter. If I lived further south It'd be a no brainer, same with the windshield. Thanks again!

Ah, Eugene? I love that place, lay back and much slower pace than city life for sure....

Yea, I would say S9 if budget cuts it, but for your place? S7 would do nicely if you are not the type for top-of-the-line.... I tend to go all out and stay there a while so I don't have to spend twice....

Looks great! The windshield adds a lot.
I ended up going with S9 - used the 50% over the factory 20% on the rear doors and back windows to end up with 10% on them, and then 20% on the fronts. It looks pretty good. I'll take photos after I wash it. I will probably go back and get the windshield done at 50% in a few weeks after I see how I like it as is. I drive a lot at night and our climate isn't that hot for too much of the year as I mentioned. It's about 80 outside today and its notably cooler in the truck even without having fil on the windshield.
I actually live in Bend but lived in Eugene at 2 different times in the past.

Yea, mine 5% on the back side made it 2%, but I can still see fine, it does take some getting used to.
I agree, your are might not need a super high reflective front windshield, but have some is nice just to be able to not get cooked by getting in the truck, lol

I pass Bend a few times, never stopped just passing through. I used to travel between SF and Seattle and in between.

That would be the upper lines of Rayno window films I believe…we have installed some of it and I did like the look and feel as a installer but I have been a long time SunTek guy. Currently we use Global QDP ceramic on all of our automotive.
I really don’t pay a lot of attention to the number claims bc there are so many other variables to a great install
I think those %’s are the IR heat rejection numbers …I look more at total solar energy rejection & install-ability
If there was a area to maybe save a buck….the rear half meaning rear doors and rear glass since you have a factory tint also…the best you can for front doors and windshield
    My 2 cents
