Hi guys, the time has come to replace my timing belt. Definitely am going to get the timing belt/water pump kit with harmonic balancer made by aisin from RockAuto, and will also be replacing the radiator as well as hoses while i’m up in there. I’ve been watching the walk-thru video of this procedure by TRQ on youtube, which seems to be a “fan favorite”. Seems manageable. I’ve seen many comments on the TRQ video mentioning there is no description of torquing the crankshaft bolt. I have an impact driver, but would like to torque to spec if necessary (which i’m sure it is). To do this do I need a cam pulley holder of some sort? What’s it supposed to be torqued to? Any advice/ tips and tricks in general? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

This tool can be used to both remove and torque the crankshaft bolt.

Here's how it worked for me:

I see you're new to the forum. Maybe new to using forums in general. We have an entire sticky thread section at the top of the 1st gen forum that has the info you need. All info you will probably need actually.

Here's the timing belt thread, which even covers the tool @des2mtn mentions and all aspects of "gotchas" you may run into: https://www.tundras.com/threads/lower-ball-joints-part-numbers.97100/

Meanwhile, before you start on anything, do yourself a favor. Read the 1st two replies of the "hey, you just bought a 1st gen eh?" thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/
