It really sounds like, for whatever reason, the tensioner assembly was the culprit. At least we can hope so! You should be able to peel back a cam cover here in a week or so to see if there is any abnormal wear on the timing belt. Fingers crossed:fingerscrossed:

Thank you, it is a relief knowing winter is around the corner and it's main purpose is for clearing snow on my driveway... I appreciate the tip on the crankshaft sensor wire, it almost got me last time, clips are close to needing replacement. The camshaft sensor wire is a delicate and tedious one as well to route properly.. hope my issue doesn't reoccur that's for sure..

Its a older mid sized DK2 avalanche, armstrong swivel rotation but the up and down is electric, I used it once last year to try it out on six inch snowfall... Uncle was moving and it was priced right. Knowing my truck frame issue I baby it, only push my driveway. I really like the truck as I do my rav4 and tried a couple angles to get the frame done but prior owner took it in and dealer back then made the decision to do the prevention solution because it wasn't bad enough.. second time around the owner took the class action settlement and think it was $3K. Long story short dealer and Toyota have said no go on frame swap after running the vin.. they had a stack of frames at one point and I asked dealer if they would just give me a frame half joking but that wasn't happening either...HA.

glad that the belt did not pop and glad you got the belt fixed. by the stickers I should be about 20k away , but Im gonna do it sooner anyway as I dont trust the work that has been done to it or if it was just a belt or entire kit, does says asian belt at xxx miles...does not say part number, or kit. I did peel back the cover and belt looks good. ( new to me and finding lots of things that were "done".....were not)

Well from my experience I would change it all if your in there, I didn't do the lower main oil seal cause I saw no signs of leaks and the truck only has 234K on it. The latest dealer I used for parts is out of VA XxxOurisman toyota of Richmond and I believe they bought up Mc George who I had bought parts from in past. I feal there parts prices are very fair along with the shipping. Pull the parts up with your VIN and they will cross check everything prior to shipping. For whatever reason on the idler bearing references the diagrams have the part numbers but are flipped around and show wrong when in the cart. Order both in my opinion and cover yourself. I ordered OEM water pump as well the first go around..and think I did the thermostat as well. Take lots of pictures before, during and after and are great references.. Lots of others on this forum to help, definitely beneficial to have other opinions!
