Honestly I would probably have one if it was $100. I feel it's a rip-off for what it is. For $300 I'm just gonna use tow haul mode and step on the gas harder. Use the 3 hun for gas. There is no delay on my truck while in tow haul

Its a NA engine you will largely just be wasting money.

So many other opportunities to spend that money on better upgrades.

The Pedal Commander and Sprint Booster basically do the same thing.

I went specifically with the Pedal Commander since it can be placed out of view and has blue tooth capability to adjust setting via the app on my phone.

People can knock it, but the overwhelming response from folks who actually have experience with them is ignorant to refute. I know it doesn’t increase HP, but for $300 (got mine for $275 shipped) there has been nothing that has more improved my normal daily driving experience. And I have plenty of experience in the large displacement / forced induction world.

I read somewhere the throttle response was changed sometime between 07 and now. The PC gets it back to pre change response. My 10 was a lot more responsive than my 18 before the PC.

    Same as before.

The only issue (if you want to call it that) I have with the Pedal Commander is that in snow / ice conditions it will spin the tires and engage the traction control faster. I live in south central Alaska, so it’s a solid 4 months of snow / ice. I simply turn the PC off during those months.

General rule: You will never improve the MPG of the 5.7 in any meaningful way. Period. For emphasis, not just period, but a gnarly, bloody, 3-4 tampon period.

Also, if you crunch the numbers, minor MPG gains don't add up to much savings.
For example, industry average mileage for a year is 15000 miles. Say you get 15 MPG as an average (We are talking a stock truck here). That'll be 1000 gallons of fuel in a year. Pick any number you want for fuel prices, but for this we will use $3.00 per gallon. You're at $3000 fuel cost per year.
Now, change the MPG to 18, and you are at 833.33 gallons of fuel. Times our $3.00 per gallon and you are at $2500 fuel cost per year.

$500 annual savings for a full 3 MPG increase is only $41.66 per month. If your budget is so tight that 42 bucks in any given month is going to break you, you have already mismanaged your budget and funds. These savings are also only this large if you are actually hitting 15k miles in a year. For anyone driving the truck less than that, the savings shrink even more.

This is all just for perspective. People flip about 2-3 MPG, but it's really not a huge financial impact.

That's how my current set up responds, it's especially neck snapping with my summer tires... I just press down a little harder on the gas, because letting off sucks!

@unclebeejo808 @Wallygator You both have very different opinions of the Pedal commander. You've both stated them. Take it to PM if you wanna have a cat fight about it. Don't clutter up ANOTHER thread with it.

Hmmm, didn't think there was any "fight" involved. Having a discussion about things is what forums are all about and they rarely stay on topic through the whole thread. You may have to get used to it cuz that is how it is....an Just because there are differing opinions does not mean we can't all sit down and have a beer at the end of the day.

To save time, start at this post https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...d-gen-tundra-today.713/page-1239#post-1711460 and you can see where you both stand on the PC and what they think of each others opinions. Also, I said cat fight, meaning a half hearted slappy kind of thing with hissing, rather than full blown fisticuffs.

This is mostly true. I do have a headache, so I might be being extra short on patience today. I apologize.

I would put my 17 in total "Beast Mode" and it was fun around town. That truck had Ridge Grapplers, my 20 has Trail Grapplers and one day last week I had the tow/haul ass button pressed and spun those 4k mile mud tires by accident. I was like "Hell Yea"!!

So after much reading yesterday, it was a crappy day. I ordered the pedal commander and throttle body spacer, going to start with the spacer 1st, or whichever one I get first. Although still looking at the cold air intake

Well for my truck and needs:

Leather seats. The cloth seats were garbage and now I actually enjoy getting in my truck an riding for extended periods.
Radio. My truck was non JBL and the stereo was garbage and lacked android auto. I put in a Kenwood with wireless Android Auto and the change is dramatic. I did even need to do speakers.
Small things like rubber inserts for the entire center console area. Made a huge aesthetic difference. A coin tray holder for the center console so its not just a huge hole anymore.
I put a muffler on my truck. A full exhaust would have been largely a waste of money IMO but I did want my truck to sound better. $150 for a muffler shop to weld in a magnaflow muffler and I am pleased with how it sounds.

To get just a good of results but much safer and cheaper than a high flow air filter and/or a CAI rip out your stock air system charcoal filter. Then you can mod it to make it a true CAI if you really want to.
Engineering explained (youtube) channel has a wonderful and thorough video showing you just how much(or not) those high flow air filters do for your vehicle.

Been modifying sports cars for years so I've wasted my share of money.

With naturally aspirated engines you can spend $4-5k in mods that might get you 50hp if you are lucky.
Or you can spend $5-8k on a supercharger and get a true 75-100 whp.

But IMO this is a truck and unless it cannot tow something I need it to I'd rather spend all that money in other places.

I hope they give you what you are looking for! As for the CAI, I looked into them, but passed. The stock intake on a Tundra is already pulling cold air, so the aftermarket CAI are just noisemakers. That's the general consensus anyway.

Perhaps, but where can you get a supercharger installed on the 5.7L for $8k?
