The supercharger may reduce the life of the engine a bit, though that will depend a bit on how the truck was driven. The price seems a little high for the mileage, but it is well equipped.

Parts and upgrades seem nice, should be able to get some more useful life out of the motor if everything checks out but with those miles and esp. the sc you may be on borrowed time, I would not have that be your only vehicle and would make sure to have enough money in the bank to fix the motor if it blew the day you got it.

Not a bad deal, there's a lot of work done to it. I'd be curious how long the blower has been on it for. It certainly has not been babied with those mods and being at sea level.

Look for as many service records as you can find. Give the VIN to a dealer, ask for records. Did the dealer install the supercharger or any of the parts? If this was all installed in some dudes garage I would we concerned. I have seen lots of bad work done this way. Some people are great home mechanics, however most are not.

In my opinion nobody spends this much money on parts ect to drive the truck "nicely" everyday. The part about a new transmission with a high stall torque converter and the fact the engine is so dirty are red flags to me.

I bought my 2007 with 214k miles on in in February. Its a regular cab and will be getting a engine replacement before supercharging. For me its is about what is reliable, smart, but also fun. Just because a Toyota will run and take boost from a supercharger as 300,000 miles doesn't mean you should do it everyday. I would buy this knowing it could need a major engine refresh or overhaul soon. Might be the reason it is forsale now honestly.

I gave $9,000 for mine because there was no way I was paying $10+k for a 14 year old truck with over 200,000 miles. I love Toyotas but damn.

For reference, in 2009 I bought a 2007 Single Cab Tundra with 30k miles for $17,500, these prices today are insane.

Definitely buyer beware, someone built a fundra to play and now they're selling it before anything bad happens.
That's what it looks like to me. Just go into the deal knowing that it has probably been hammered on a little bit or a lot.
Sc tundras are awesome, but are not invincible. I love mine, but unfortunately I'm in the small group of owners that have issues. ( Not placing any blame on toyota or magnuson)
That's a lot of miles and a lot of performance parts, just beware and get it as cheap as you can. Great looking 2nd gen tho. Good luck OP

Edit: Is it me, or does it look like the upper control arm and frame rail has been painted black recently? I'm looking from my phone and can't really tell.

Not sure how long that SC has been on, but seeing it’s already had a rebuilt trans I would not go for it.
    How’s rust In SC?

Thanks guys ! The seller is a Toyota technician - he got the blower via removal from a customers truck and had magnusson refresh it. Blower and most mods have been on the truck for 20k miles. Im going to rent a car and take a good hard look at it. Likely won’t offer full price due to the mileage - I’m meeting him at the dealership where he works so I’ll ask him to pull codes.

Supercharged with 285k? I would do a THOROUGH inspection on the engine (compression, leak down test) to make sure everything is OK. Such high mileage is hard even on a normally aspirated engine.

It might be OK but I personally would not purchase such a vehicle unless I considered the potential cost of refreshing or replacing the engine.

As someone also mentioned, it's harder on other components such as transmission, driveline, and all associated mounts.

Ask him to warranty it then if he is Toyota Tech.

A written guarantee between you and him that the engine wont blow up in 3 months or 6 months (you choose a timeframe) If he won’t sign it then that’s a huge red flag. Being a Toyota Tech hes aware of all the points made so far in this thread
