Mine is not ffv. FFV is limited to the BD only at this time, unless you do a unichip. Dap is working on the ffv file currently but no set dates as of yet. There’s definitely a line waiting for him tho lol.

We have ignition! Just checking for odd sounds and and fluid leaks at idle. Their test runs are next if they are okay with idle.

Job complete and ready for me to pickup. Raining today so not ideal for full throttle runs in a 550hp Tundra. Total is 1313 so less than expected. They said it runs great. Can’t wait to pickup Kevin and dry weather tomorrow. Woot! Woot!

I was told to try to drive it as you normally would. Since the computer was flashed, it needs to re-learn driving habits.

Meet my install team of Chris(service manager on driver side) and Dave (technician) that performed the install. By the way, Dave drives a 1100hp Mustang. He did all the work. Lol

Wow is my first impression. The throttle response is very noticeable...like in tow haul mode but you are not. The SC whine is awesome. Don’t think I will get tired of it ever and you only hear it when you need it. Been raining all day so the accerator hasn’t been matted yet but tomorrow is clear and sunny. :p I broke loose twice when accelerating from the 40s. The street was a bit damp but I can tell Kevin is now on steroids. :benchpress:

My audio upgrade might be on hold forever has the SC whine is all I need. I won’t bore you all with multiple posts every hour on this but will post results as the ecu continues to learn and I do some more testing.

Stock tranny and I’m sure something is no longer covered by Toyota. At least they did the install so I’m going to check with Chris on coverages. I know Magnuson will cover any defective parts or anything caused by the SC. No labor though. Tomorrow can’t get here soon enough. Need more seat time.

if you are FFV and running the Bullydog FFV tune with the boost pressure sensor, i would advise against it. i need to call magnuson as i think the pressure sensor is broken. it has gotten so bad its digital now.

If you are running FFV, the pressure sensor attachment to the fuel relay is a shoddy job in increasing fuel delivery. they should have used a rising FPR with a return line to the tank instead.

@Stulloh - A really valid question. A friend and now retired coworker of mine had Sparks install the S/C in his 17 Pro last year after he purchased it the truck brand new. I asked him today what he thought about the S/C after several months of ownership and if he kept his stock parts? He said he did keep the stock parts. And said that he is going to sell his 17 Pro and order a 19 Pro and would not be adding a S/C. Naturally I was reeeeally surprised to hear this and I asked him why? His only complaint was that the stock transmission was not a seamless match for the now 550hp S/C engine when you mat the accelerator pedal. This makes total sense when you think about it. (Toyota matched the stock transmission up with a 380 hp stock power plant). Which post S/C install is still a stock transmission. He did say something about the bullydog tuner helping some. Not to rain on a S/C install, but this would be a valid question/concern if I were going to pony up the dollars for the high hp S/C install.

It would be interesting to hear what other current and former S/C owners experiences/thoughts who purchased their S/C through Toyota and had the install done by Toyota. Obviously the stock transmission can “handle” the S/C or Toyota would not touch an install.
The question remains will Toyota still warranty the transmission? If they say no, then it would appear they are agreeing on the transmission match/concern. Just a few questions I would ask prior to an install.

OP, I wish you miles of smiles with your S/C Tundra!

Thanks @Patriot I’m not planning to mat the accelerator all that much, but I’m going to ping my service manager and the tech later today just to see. I know the tech matted it several times during his test runs. Just a thought, unless the transmission changed from earlier models when Toyota offered the TRD SC, seems like everything should be okay. Also, if it can handle towing 10,000 lbs, seems like the SC would be fine towing just me, a hot chick and my Jon boat. :D

It would be interesting to hear from someone with a SC in excess of say, 50k miles. All good questions.

I bought a used trd sc tundra with 55k km from toyota And it currently has 70k km. It has had sc installed when brand new. Transmission feels smooth as butter, easy to drive like a grandpa or any other way. Have used it in -30c to +35c with no problems.

I found a shop near me that does it for $80...2 full runs and $20 for each additional. Is there any benefit to doing this? I’m curious.
