And im not building a race truck like most the guys in the SC thread. Im not a HP chaser. Mine is a quite basic setup but hits numbers same as lower alt guys and it blows their minds.

And I agree theres not enough value in tje new gen for the price or the already seen troubles. Shit you see what hapoens when some things need fixed? They literally have to drop the whole frame with motor! Again everyome looks at oooo TTs im all over that yet theyre only gettimg VERY slightly netter numbers than the 2nd gen, def nothing to brag about

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Eventually someone at some point is going to build a V35A in one of these that makes idiotic power. I guess it will probably create a lot of butt hurt.

I still maintain the money is better spent making an already fast car faster. Use the truck to pull said car to a track.

Yeah they can build that motor to scream but do the same to the 2 gen and youll have monster truck power. Thays why I argue with those type because they think they have a big motor. What toyota should have done was do some uograding to the 5.7 and then created the 10 speed trans for that and then obviously strengthend the frame etc for the tow/haul yet they spent it on a v6 turbos and problems just to follow ford and are becoming ford statistics hahaha

Unfortunately the EPA is hell bent on achieving unrealistic emissions standards, and no V8 will meet them with existing technology going forward. Since Toyota likes to not redesign engines or entire vehicles for over a decade an updated V8 and associated tooling was never in the cards.

Until Toyota decides to play in the 3/4 ton and up GVWR category we’re going to get downsized FI 6 cylinders or smaller in Toyota trucks.

As far as modding a 1/2 ton for big power any Toyota is a piss poor choice. Buy a GM, go to Jegs.com and the world is your oyster. Tons more support to make lots more power for less money. Just the reality of the performance aftermarket.

wtf are you talking about , you’re arguing with yourself in some fantasy land .

there is no way you’re not sitting in your moms basement right now

for example you’re arguing engine specs etc with one of the most knowledgeable members with @Coal Dragger and he’s not even a gen 3 dude, lol. Talk about being on an island
