If you’re still under your bumper-to-bumper warranty then it’s covered.

Edit - even if you don’t have the coverage anymore, it shouldn’t be difficult to replace. Pop off the driver side brake light assembly and it’s sitting right behind it.

Just checked it again, if I just let it go it rebounds about two inches before hitting bottom, then settles slowly. Kinda like a worn out screen door strut. I'm assuming normal operation results in the tailgate lowering in a controlled manner through the entire range?

Sounds like it might be normal. Mine has what looks like very minor resistance until it gets to the very end, then the strut kicks in right at the end. I know mine has been this way since I bought it new - went down fast until the very end.
Also, you can hear the strut compressing on the way down. Check out the vid. It’s night here but tried to get some of the front porch light to light up the gate going down.

Video won’t upload. “The uploaded file doesn’t have an allowed extension.” Since when can’t we upload iPhone videos?

i didn't know my tundra can turn off the high beam when another vehicle is detected. I thought something was wrong with it. I guess I turned it on and forgot about it.

Once you start the truck, smart door handles and key fob unlock don’t work.

Wife's Corolla is the same. I always forget to hold the key when starting my other car, which can't be good for it.

Does this work decently? I'm hesitant to trust it and it's really not that hard to reach over and pull the stalk back.

My 18 had it. Don't think there was an option to turn it off.

    Pretty things
    Exactly this.

My poor bimmer gets the "short start?" like 30% of the time now that I've gotten used to the auto crank on the tundra and push button on the heep.

People say that driver aids don't "train" folks to abandon (slightly lessen?) their senses, instincts, and presence of mind, are probably giving themselves and others a bot too much credit.

I mean, I pride myself on driving ability and being as conscious of my surroundings as possible at all times (regardless of..)... But I am shamelessly tricked into just bumping the ignition on the 5 speed E34, which is completely identifiable from anything else I ever drive.

    ...where was I???

I think my beer is empty.

It's not turned on in my truck. There's a switch by your left knee where the other lights and the rear window switch are.

I have only had my truck since May so I didnt see this before, but when you remote start your truck on the colder weather it automatically kicks the defroster on and you get into a warm truck, so spoiled! :)

Every time I get near a gas station my tundra automatically drives into it to get filled up.
Oh and it also turns me into Brad Pitt every time I get behind the wheel.

^^ this - as well I find that if I don't have the AC on (when it's an option) to defrost, it just fogs up eventually in the back as is generates humid air, so I always make sure the AC is on when defrosting (to avoid having to later defog while driving). Has worked well and been fine for me

That dial is extremely helpful, especially in fog dense areas.

if you remove the auto door lock delay you can hear your ABS clunk when you first take off. The door locks hide the noise.

you can actuate the turn signal by using the lever but not have to go past the click. it only stays on for a few seconds.
