What can a CM do that a DC can't?

Hold people of real stature in the back seat comfortably.
    CM's look better.

Other than that - DC wins. More payload, bigger bed.

I've been having this debate with the wife while shopping. Her: you can get an extender and leave the tailgate down on the CC. Me: you can do that on the DC too. You'll always have more capacity with the DC. She just can't math lol.

Seriously, it's like every week. That and Sport vs. OR, and especially manual transmission vs. auto. You can't believe how passionate the MT guys are.

Curious what mini van to get for this. Double cab may look better but my kids and dog appreciate the extra room.

NV, Express or Sprinter; in that order. Fuck mini vans. Fullsize is what's up. With capable full size vans like those, mini vans are meh at best. FULL SIZE ALL THE THINGS.

No I was kidding I was just responding to: crew max may as well get a mini van.
Getting a van would be really stupid for me

Damn that's nice. Parking must be interesting though. Is the payload higher with that setup?

I traded a Silverado DC (similiar to the Tundra DC) so my baby boy can enjoy his ride like a BOSS (limo style) with all the room in the world. DC won't offer that ever. :D

Kids are grown and gone. No need for a CM with just the wife and I. And even if my kids visit (three of them), there is plenty of room for them in my DC. Couldn't deal with the dinky 5 1/2' bed either.

I have a cremax had a 6ft bed on my access cab Tacoma. The smaller bed is hardly noticeable vs the extra interior space. It's a trade off. My main loss with the shorter bed was noticed transporting kayaks. I got some racks and resolved that issue fairly quickly. IMG-4188.jpg

Well...if she can't fit in the cab, she can ride in the back. And if she cant fit in the bed? Oh boy, I'll just get the low boy.

That is my argument. You might have to do some mods in order to maximize a bed that is only 1-foot shorter... Otherwise the CM was a no brainer for me. The only towing I do is a boat or a travel trailer, CM has no problems there. The reduced payload isn't an issue at all either. The selling point for me is that I have two kids in car seats who love kicking the back of the seat while I'm driving... can't do that in a CM kids!!!! Booya!

    I had a 2015 DC, now a 19 CM.

My observations thus far as what the CM can do that the DC cannot:

More people/gear in cab comfortably. Having extra cab space allows you to store sensitive gear in the cab vs the bed. This was a hidden blessing for me.

Subs behind seat without losing under seat storage.

Roll down back window (not only is it awesome, it helps with hauling gear)

    Resale value edge to CM

I lost bed space but gained it back with an Amp Research bed extender.

If/when the TRD Pro comes in a DC, I may make the jump back.

the day i'm looking to transport "People of stature" in the back seat of my DC will be the day I trade it.

The day my wife becomes a "person of stature" is also coincidentally the day i trade her...
