I miss this thread, so I have thought of a few more........ :stirthepot:

    1. Why in the #*(! did Toyota put such a tiny bed on the back of the CM? I mean seriously......somebody in Engineering needs to get slapped for that one).
    2. 2WD trucks - WTF is the point?
    3. Lowered trucks - this one has always baffled me. "Hey - let's see if I can make my truck less capable, and make it look like a Chevy. That way I have to plan my routes to avoid speed bumps". :annoyed:
    4. Why are most trucks ugly as sin these days?
    5. Why am I turning into the crusty old dude that doesn't understand "kids these days"?

    o_O:thumbsup:

I love the original post. Lots of hurt people were complaining about the truth of the matter(s). Since this thread started I’ve seen new people (assuming they didn’t read here first) start new threads about: 1) Bought a Tundra! then turn around and ask ‘why does my truck not have enough payload’? 2) Help! I did some mods on my Tundra suspension (like Billy Bob) and now I have problems. Not big on emojis but :lalala::typing::frusty::cheers::mudding:

Alright, I have to bring this one back from the dead. We talked about it in another thread, so it has been on my mind. I saw two things this morning that made me think "WTF?", and I thought of this thread. So here are a couple more things that I don't understand:

    1. Why is it that women (young women especially) place more value on how they look in the mornings then on actually nourishing their bodies with food??? I seriously don't understand this. Wife woke up this morning and made the whole family breakfast - it was delicious. But my oldest daughter, who was up before us, spent just about 90 minutes in the bathroom primping, just to rush out the door in time to get to work. She does this very often - skipping breakfast because she spends hours in front of the mirror. WTF??? I will never understand this.

    2. Why is it that we don't understand how to properly merge when a lane ends in this country? We are in fear of pissing off other motorists or something, but fer fawk's sake - use the zipper merge approach. It is faster. Instead, we have everyone trying to merge WAY TOO EARLY, and then when someone does try to move ahead and zipper merge, some douchebag moves over in the second lane to "block" them so they won't get ahead of them. WTF? Wastes so much time. I just don't understand.

Breakfast really isn't all that important unless you need it for a medical reason or are a high performing athlete about to train.

This thread reminds me a topic on the Ducati forum, people not understanding why someone would buy a garage Queen....

Mine are road often street and track and they are both still queens that are awesome to look at every time I walk into the garage..

except for the OPs 1. Everything else is live and let live...

I spend endless hours cleaning them with qtips... and you don’t have to understand :)

I don't understand why some people merge onto a 70mph interstate going 45mph. Infuriating.

For those of us that have absolutely no need whatosever for 4WD. The added expense, weight, maintenance and larger turning radius - for no reason. Fourteen years of continuous Tundra ownership and never once needed 4WD. Why should I pay for something I will never need?

I’ll take on #4.... Leather seats... I did it strictly for ease of cleaning off the dog fur. I take my 2 pups everywhere and in my SUV with cloth the hair gets in everything. With the leathers and a Duluth trading seat cover I’m good to go.

    1. Because they don’t follow meal times and eat when they’re absolutely famished. The same reason they try to be vegan. Those girls are thin and they learned from the Gram it’ll help their complexion.

I try not to push mine but I remind her she’s gotta eat breakfast if she expects to peak for a morning test or athletics. I make sure she has healthy snacks in her bag she can pull out anytime to nibble. She wants to be vegan, so I show her resources for a proper plant based diet which we’re all veering towards anyway. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy a juicy steak every other week.

It doesn’t help a teen thinks they’re indestructible and the ability to plan hasn’t fully matured.

    2. People are scared behind the wheel, or don’t check blind spots, or self centered etc. Really bugs me too when they don’t give me space as I’m merging onto a highway. They either need to slow down, speed up, or move over. Don’t continue to tandem my acceleration.

    These scenarios piss me off:
-Are humans ever going to understand a 4 way stop intersection?

-You're driving down a 2 lane street. A car is parked on the shoulder of the opposite lane and another car is approaching. This approaching car does not yield to you and just drives around the parked car, causing you to slam on your brakes. This happens to me ALL THE TIME. WTF is going on?!? People just don't give a damn anymore.

So I will reply with numbers corresponding to your post. Easier than a long quote

    1. This... especially since moving to utah. They do this in the left lane here and its infuriating. I came from texas and you will get a ticket for that shit there. I know as I'm previous texas LEO

    2. Keeping up with Jones's ....been a thing forever in just about everything.

    3. Newer trucks cost more and people less likely to take an angle grinder and welder to it. Give it 20 years and they'll be welding exo cages on their 2018 tundra they've beat across moab 27 times.:sawzall::welder:

    4. This I didnt understand either....until I accidentally ended up buying a limited tundra. It was between a used cpo limited or a new sr5 trd. I went with the limited as I got a better deal.Wouldn't go back now. Always liked my grandfather's 2004 caddy. Now I can have a 2004 caddy in my truck for the win.:bananadance:

    5. Who cares. Allows the rest of us to find "take off" deals on pro suspensions parts for the dumbass that bought his pro tundra with a 6 inch bracket lift. :)

That scenario is common in my neighborhood but most people know if the parked car is on your side, you’re the one that waits behind it in a stale mate arrival.

I don't understand the lack of curiosity most people have. They'll more likely to say "i don't get it" and move on rather than spend a few minutes at least reading a wikipedia entry on a topic. No one says you need to be an expert, but at least have an interest in the world around you. If my search history was saved, it'd be some interesting reading...

True, the methodology about being the most important meal has changed, it only applies to steady routines and medical reasons as you said.

It’s all about the fasting time, so no breakfast if one eats late the night before and/or gets up late... actually the word derives from “breaking from fasting”, so technically breakfast can occur anytime lol

I keep a blue U-shaped double headed dong in the truck's console and I'll whip it out and shake it at stupid drivers. It's very useful. Highly recommended.
I'd post a picture of it, but I'd probably get kicked out for a few days.

Ill probably get backlash, but, if you are the one merging its your responsibility to make sure you can. Its not my responsibility to slow down for you. I am on the freeway moving with traffic. I will move over if i can, but its not always possible either.

Yes I agree I have the higher responsibility but I do expect some courtesy, or situational awareness which is probably the main problem as when I glance over in tandem it’s usually someone looking straight ahead with a terrified face or a senior perhaps with aging acuities. I’m a slow accelerating truck, many vehicles have more agility.

If the roles are reversed I actually will off the gas if I can’t speed up in a line of traffic due to someone in front of me or being unable to move over. I see it as a greater accident potential if the merger is scrambling to try to get in.

When I had a fast sports sedan, this never bugged me because I easily darted in front of people to merge.

Similarly when I’m towing, people cut in front and have no concept my greater stopping distance. I cringe when they do that in front of semis when traffic is beginning to halt.

I have a theory on this one. My dad drives semi truck for work, always complains the same thing. But its because people cant see in front of you. They dont pass and slow down to other cars, just the big rigs. It has to do with visibility. Again just a theory though.

No problem with people that like to keep there stuff clean and maintain the shit out of it.

Now, if you bought it and didn't use it, just sat and cleaned it with q-tips - that would be effed up. That is another thing that I don't understand - people that buy collector cars and just stuff them in their garage and never use them. I had a colleague that purchased an early '90s Porsche that he just kept in his garage. He never drove it, only took it out to wash it - hell, he didn't even take it to car shows. It just sat there for over a decade. I used to ask him why? He responded with "I don't want to mess it up, maybe I'll drive it when I retire". WTF? Go enjoy it. The real shitty part is he passed away a couple of years ago at the age of 52 - cancer. Never got the chance.

My previous Boss had over 30 collectible cars never drove them. And I understand why, he wanted to show off :)

If I bought 70k Ducati I doubt I would ride it, maybe once :)

I had a guy one time thought it was my job to slow down for him. He thought I had it out for him. So when he finally decided to 'do the right thing' and slow down to merge, he moved over to my left and tried to block me in. Thought he made himself happy by doing this. Little did he know I ended up taking the exit lane to get to the service road.

Another 'driver' thought it was my job to let him in when I already let the guy in front of him in. When he got the chance to get up beside me, he flipped me off. I just laughed at his stupid looking face and limp ass middle finger.
