I don't understand why stock front sway bars are hollowed. Is it cheaper by the pounds?

    Thought of another one:

    7. People that don't take the time to understand payload, GVWR/GCWR, etc. Or they do understand it and choose to ignore it.

I also don't understand why a supercharger costs $8000.00 and why Harbor Freight hasn't come out with a cheaper one yet? I just don't get this.

    1. Push them out of your way if they are texting, if they are over 80 give them a break, you might be that old one day.
    2. Not sure about this one. I don't think I have ever bought anything that I did not know what it was (exotic cocktails don't count).
    3. My wife said "have the shop hang the bumpers, you'll just drop them on your toe". I did my own wiring, does it still count?
    4. Toyota would not sell me one marriage saving option (dual zone AC) without leather. I put camo seat covers over it is that OK?
    5. Mine was a Limited and I covered the leather seats, see above, is this the same thing? I also did a 2/0 lift so now I have a PRO stance. I'm so confused.
    6. I get this, you were bored this morning. We have all been there.

Unfortunately no longer farming, just couldn't make ends meet. But man I loved that work. Now I work in healthcare as an RN. My truck is still a daily driver but it's off the pavement a lot with fishing, hunting, and camping.

Stronger and lighter, and will outperform a solid sway bar. Cost more to manufacture than a solid one.

But then I don't understand why after I upgraded to a solid TRD sway bar my truck handles much better. Must be the color....

    I would stick with that.

The TRD sway bar could be more ridged steel as well. Most sway bars are hollow or taper down for repeated twisting.

CAFE standards is why your truck cost so much now. Not Bluetooth and leather.

I don't agree with that totally. Trucks have gone more mainstream. I don't think that most of them sold aren't really ever used for work. The masses have asked for more bells and whistles and car makers have responded.

If the bluetooth and leather isn't what makes it more expensive, then why was my Tundra Base model $33K when I bought it in 2013, and there was a Platinum model I saw on the lot for north of $50K? My truck was basically just a stripped down version that didn't have all of the floofy goodies like leather, "premium sound", power ass wipe, etc (it did have the NAV/backup camera though - wife wanted that).

I compare leather in a truck to a tuxedo t-shirt. It says I want to be formal but I am here to party too.

I have both by the way

I love my Leather and work construction never had a problem with anything happening to it. Hell my dad has a 1999 Tahoe he drives everyday for construction work and it has 318,000 miles on it no holes in his leather either.

Where is it dictated that a truck must be used for work? Trucks are for hauling stuff. I haul motorcycles, home improvement material, camping gear, bicycles and other random crap. This is why I own a truck and have owned trucks almost exclusively since I started driving.

In the same sentence you answered your question about why trucks have all the bells and whistles. Supply and demand. Just because you're not asking for these things doesn't mean other people aren't.

I like a nice truck for many reasons other than pure utilitarianism and I don't feel like I need to justify them to anybody.

I agree. Trucks are for hauling stuff - That is what I am referring to as WORK. The majority of truck owners I know never haul nor tow a damn thing.

Tafadali, I dont understand why anybody would cover up chrome or darken red taillights, but I’m glad they do. It shows we have that freedom. Try buying a vehicle in some 3rd world countries - no options, no variance, you get what they sell you. Asante. Karibu.

    (Tafadali, Asante, karibu)
