I like the way it opens. The rear window opens upwards if you don’t need to open the hatch.

Took the family to the Santa Barbara zoo and got some golden hour shots on the way back with my friends black GX.

Victory 4x4 roof rack should be coming in a couple of weeks.

Yeah, I just like the way the 4runner works better with the hatch type opening (handy in the rain) and the roll down window (extra handy for just about everything including the need to haul things that are too long to fit inside).

I don’t like the barn door on the GX but the window hatch is fine. The hatch is a small negative. We’ve had the GX a year now and by far it has been my favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned. And we have had 2 4Runners, Tacoma, 2 Highlander’s, Rav4, and a Subaru Forester. I have a feeling we will have this GX for a couple decades and love it all the way.

I am not sure I can go 2inches lift. The ******** rack which I love sticks up a few inches and parking garages in the Philly area are awfully low! First world problems I know.

Today I took the tundra out on the trails. Def glad I did. I would’ve done some damage in the GX as it sits right now... Rowher Flats in Santa Clarita

Word. I feel like I could circle the globe in the thing, and have fun doing it. Not to say I wouldn’t do that in the Tundra also...

I’ll join the GX party. Just picked her up last week. 2013 gx460 premium package with 97k on it. Got my advan wheels on order 17x7.5 -10 offset. Going for 33-35s and going balls out with it like my tundra. It will be our second overland rig for smaller tighter trails. Suspension comes next if I can find a Christmas sale on kings. Doubt it. But I’ll wait till after Christmas to order. I agree with others about how the club Lexus forum not very helpful. Our forum is so much better and responsive. I did a few mods already like the little air filter on the AIP I believe and some yellow bulbs for daytime and fogs for now.

Just picked this up today. Pulled over in a random lot to take a pic.

05' GX470 with 153k miles. Feels like a new car.

I put a peddle commander and it came to life. I had to press the skinny pedal halfway in for it to be responsive. Now it’s so much better. I highly recommend it. Have one in the tundra as well. Won’t make you faster but it sure feels like it.

I'm a bit excited, I can't give you just one...

Step 1: Getting the factory wheels powder coated gunmetal or gloss black.

Step 2: Tires, going up a little bit in size. On the fence either KO2's or Fallen Wildpeak AT's. I think the KO2's on my Tundra make for a stiff ride, I like the way the GX drives, but I want AT's, ahhh!

Step 3: Possibly new rotors and pads all around. Simply because I will have the wheels off and the existing front rotors show rust outside the braking surface.

Step 4: The Rago modular cargo net solution for the rear gate, however it is currently on sale so that may be step 1, haha.

Step 5: New key cases bc the ones I have look beat.

Step 6: Nice floor liners need to do more research on them.

In the future: Convert air suspension to coils, small lift , skid plates, then take the kids to Rausch Creek in it and get some mud on the tires!

Once it warms up I will do some fluid changes and spark plugs.

Wanna go to Rausch Creek next year? Haha Woodgrain warriors!

I dont think there is anything bad about giving your opinion, it isn't everybody's cup of tea but keep in mind it isnt in its final form yet either. When it has sliders, bumpers and other off road elements added that wheel and tire combo will look more at home. I think the front grille and bumper are the parts that look conflicting to me. It doesn't echo they style we know of as off-road, but the platform has potential.

    Beautiful vehicle, enjoying the thread.

Well so far I installed my peddle commander on my 2013 and no issues. Just smiles. My tundra has had one for over a year without any issues as well. But remember, it’s not going to make you faster it just makes the throttle response way nicer and you can adjust it how sensitive you want it. I hated pressing the gas halfway in to feel it move.

I hear you. The GX response is brutal. They claim they are easy to remove if you take to dealer and are worried about them calling you out on it for warranty issues. Any experience taking it out and then back in?

Awesome. It took me awhile to warm up to the KO2’s on the GX but now it’s all good. They really firm up the ride on highway and have been awesome in snow and rain. Haven’t had it much off road yet. I can’t wait to see the build brother. On the ClubLexus and IH8MUD forums there are some sweet rigs, although I am sure you already are checking those forums out.

I have wood grain in my Tundra too! I’d love to meet up and get them dirty! (so long as my wife doesn’t need it to take kids to soccer!!!)

It took me five minutes to install. It’s so easy. You unplug the connector attached to the top of the gas pedal and plug the pedal commander into the stock wire plug and then the other side to the pedal and you’re done. Want to remove it, reverse it and you’re good to go. Does not leave any trace of it being in the vehicle.

I may give the Falken's a try. I have been on Club Lexus, but I can't stand the layout. I haven't explored ih8mud much, only a few threads that came back from Google hits.

We may have to do a meet a Rausch Creek someday in the GX's. Once I get it setup I will be itching to go. Soccer permitting of course!

I just bought mine direct from peddle commander because I couldn’t find any on sale. Came the next day. I also went to their site to make sure I got the right one. For my 2013 model it said the PC27 was the one I needed. I would go to the PC site either way to check to see which one you need then if you want you can look for a better deal.
