Haven't done my homework on the subject, but depending on the situation you might get by fine with an electric blanket. Just throwing an option your way.

Already have one and that is what I have used til now. It works good. This is just a little project to see if it will improve comfort on very cold nights.

Switched out one of the 12V plugs in the back of the bed platform for a 4.8V dual USB plug. Now don't have to climb all the way into the topper to charge devices at camp.

    IMG_20230124_153721113.jpg

Then realized I could be locked inside the topper if the handle fell down or if someone pushed it down. Thank goodness this hasn't happened. Anyway made a block to hopefully prevent this.

Maybe you can add some magnets to the latch block, I'd drill em to diameter and epoxy em in I think. Just a quick thought.

Great idea! Only way the block can pop out now is if someone messes with it. I would hope I would wake but cannot rely on that. An too late if they get it out before I do wake up. Thanks for the great idea!

    Thank you!

Took a rare earth magnet to the area and no joy, not one thing in that lock mechanism is steel. So gonna try this little piece of industrial strength Velcro. Thanks again for the idea @2mchfun.

Always happy to share ideas! Just hard to believe that it didn't fly. Next idea, could you maybe make an emergency tool out of steel banding or something similar to open it up from the inside? Thinking thin somewhat stiff material here. Thinking you could get some practice in and be able to mark the exact alignment spots on both the tool and the seem maybe with a punch. That way you would be able to line it up just right to function the same each time. Wouldn't add weight or take much space and could be extremely helpful! Just another quick thought and happy to throw it your way! As always, good luck!

Another quick one for you, don't exactly know what the back or inside looks like, but maybe you can cut an access hole with a hole saw and make yourself a simple key to rotate the thing. You would also need a tiny hole that you could plug with a grommet to push out the t handle before turning.

Installed a console vault. It came damaged but decided to install anyway since everything worked.

    IMG_20230209_153024861.jpg

Also this week with 30336 miles...
    -engine oil and filter
-front and rear diff oil change with new washers on all the plugs
-drain and fill power steering fluid
    -retorqued lug nuts
    -new air filter
    -new cabin filter
-since the front skid was off, washed the engine bay and under the front of the truck to get all the salt off.

Have one issue. Found some pretty significant pieces of metal on the rear diff drain plug. Thankful it's magnetic. Saved these pieces and may take them into the dealer to get their opinion. Hopefully these are just from manufacturing. I probably should have changed the fluid earlier than 30k.

Kind of hard to see with them in a plastic bag...probably 7 or so pieces.

Don't be overly concerned. Generally speaking it takes a lot to destroy a differential.

Is the rear diff work recommended at 30k or you were just being proactive?

Pretty sure it was due under the special condition parameters which my truck definitely falls under. But I may be mistaken? I have to recheck for you when I get back to the manual.
Either way I'm glad I did it.

Got the transfer case oil changed. 31503 miles. This is a way easier way to do it than laying on the ground.

Also built the drawer and tested it. Other than still figuring out how to organize things in it, it's working great. Decided not to use drawer slides and just stuck some of those furniture felt slides on the bottom of the drawer. They work well. An a lot cheaper than drawer slides.

    IMG_20230309_154321493.jpg

Burnt in a little design. Tried to line up the fire with the grain in the wood. I think it turned out ok for an amateur.

This has been one of my better purchases here recently. With the price of bottled water going insane this will pay for itself quickly. Battery powered pump is push button on/off and works great. It's about $2.50 to fill this 5 gallon bottle at the grocery store.

Started the rear seat platform project today. This is how far I got before calling it for the day. Made a few mistakes that don’t really matter. Need to get more supplies. An actually vacuumed it out for the first time in 3 years. :D

Found a decent deal on a one side finished 3/4” piece of plywood. The blade I used didn’t agree with the finished side. The finished side is also quite slippery. Will have to figure something out about that. Other than those issues I feel the platform turned out well enough for my needs.
    IMG_4566.jpg

Was able to get the fridge mounts in place before dark. May add Velcro to the bottom of it to prevent movement. Now need to figure out the back wall. So far into it about $180 after the $30 piano hinge purchase:rolleyes:. May go with 3/8” plywood for the back wall to keep the weight and cost down. Not sure yet.

i also have the same axe and decided to make it extra sharp…., then I bumped my knuckle with it ever so gently while cutting kindling and cut a tendon. I may or may not have consumed some funky mushrooms prior to this… it was an experience not worth experiencing. Waited until morning so our heads were clear to go to the hospital.
I now have a dull fiskar axe that cuts just as well and hold the kindling with a stick insead of my hand.
    fantistic axe though haha!
