December: had a MGM Platinum at my dealer ready for me, got sniped by another salesman

January: ordered a Silver Sky Platinum

Weather delayed twice due to freeze/snow

Today: dealer got notice that the truck got damaged at the distribution center and isn't coming anymore.

Is this a sign that I should buy an F150?

I ended up buying a 1794 TRD instead. My ordered truck finally showed up 2+ months later and someone on my local Tundra FB group ended up buying it... I must say they have good taste

Your patience will be rewarded with an amazing new truck. If you get a Ford, it might be in for service before you would get the Tundra...:notsure:

I wanted the silver for low maintenance... But I also really dig quicksand and cement. I wouldn't bother with a limited. All would be 4x4 CM

I’m guessing that in a previous life you must have done something terrible to a Toyota. You are destined to drive a Ram as punishment, karma, you know.

Don’t limit yourself to one crappy dealer that hasn’t kept their word.

Had a similar run around at my local dealer and I ended up finding a much better deal 3 hours away. Made sure to ride through the local dealer parking lot the next day and give a nice wave out the window to the dumbass salesperson.

Try autotrader etc to find deals within a 100 miles or so if you don’t want to go far.

Was all of this through the same dealer? If so Id demand a discount or take the business elsewhere. Thats pretty poor practice when spending that much money.
Hell our roads are shit.....shhhhhhiiiiittt for 6 out of the 8 months of winter and Ive never heard of delivery issues like that.

No issues at all with the dealer, I'm just picky on what I want. Pricing is just fine, and likely they would work with me on anything in stock. Apparently GST doesn't order any Platinums with TRD, not many in Silver, and not many without chrome step bars and ball mounts.

It stinks not being able to truly order your truck exactly the way you want, but that is how Toyota does it. Tell them what you want, find one to match, or wait for the closest match to be built. It takes patience, and definitely check different dealers, some flat out lie about regional inventory. Pays off, almost got exactly what I wanted past two times with 6 week wait, and 2 week wait.

My neighbor traded a ~2011-12 Tacoma in for a 2017 Dodge Ram Rebel. I haven’t figured that one out. I understand his need for a bigger truck, but not the Dodge part.

It's a sign to go to a different dealer. Also, stick to your original MGM, or Cement. Don't do white.

Yeah he already knew Toyota was great why switch? I will say this. When I was searching for a new truck I did check out the dodges. Scott Robinson Ram offered lifetime powertrain warranty! I didn’t get the details to see if that meant I had to service it there, but I was surprised. I owned a 2002 Dodge ram and it never gave me any real problems. But it was a RCSB with the 4.7 L and a manual transmission. But with the new RAM besides it being overpriced I couldn’t get past the shifter being a knob on the dash. I’m so glad I went with Toyota.
