Front end was installed this past Friday (mostly) after work, with the help from @KevinK and @BiggHertz, and a special guest appearance from @AT x AT. I’ve still got some tweaking to do, but these things are stout and are awesome off road.

How much does the swamp cooler help? My garage is over 100 during the day.

We don’t do rust in this state but that’s some dust covered grease oozing out of the upper ball joint. 3/4 of my ball joints look the same. Seems very common when these trucks get used off-pavement - living where it’s 125 outside lets it spread once it’s weeping. At least @TRDFerguson has the serviceable joints with his fancy aftermarket UCAs.

All of my Trees Bjoints look like that (except the ones Toyota just replaced) I had an extended warranty that ended so I took it to Tempe AutoNation to get anything wrong dealt with, they did both passenger side Bjoints & the driver side cam tower (none of it looked bad to me) I was happy to get 3k of work done for the 200 deductible. They said the grease was not the issue, it was the control arms that needed replacing.

This tells me the weeping was fine, I'm sure if they could get it past the insco they would have loved to do the driver side.

Depends on the amount of humidity in your area. The less humidity, the more efficient the swamp cooler is; as the air gets more moisture to it (rain, humidity, etc.) the swamper looses efficiency.

I ran one on my 300' dog kennel in Vegas... When it was 105-115 outside and dry, it would cool the kennel to high 70s low 80s. Efficiency is also maximized w/good insulation of whatever you're trying to cool, and also know that you'll need to have vents installed or windows cracked for air flow and to help prevent too much moisture from building up. Up ducts work fantastic in that capacity.

If you ending trying one, consider this style where it has a traditional box fan style set up....

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/MasterC...orative-Cooler-for-2000-sq-ft-MCP59/304156139

...much less maintenance and way quieter than the old hard metal, squirrel cage style coolers that also needed belts replaced and were rusting out from the moisture in the unit!

That's the reason for the upducts...

    https://www.doitbest.com/shop/heati...UhKsQEvZ2-7ICEEaYDSpoVutl3jR55-oaAokjEALw_wcB

... they are designed to vent into the attic or crawl space; thus providing ventilation in the room and it also keeps the air space above the cooled room cooler as well.

Yeah, that's miserable; once you've got a nice set up, there's times when traditional AC inside the home doesn't feel as nice as standing in front of your swamp cooler fan blowing cool moisture into your face :D

I was actually surprised by how good it was doing for me. It worked up to around 15 for the humidity and if I am 4-5 feet away it was actually very cool where I had to turn it away from me. Now with the high humidity and the Monsoon knocking on our door... not so much. I do not run the cooler just the fan now and that helps a lot. Always got to have 2 doors/windows open
