His Pollo Feliz franchise has been working out well.

Getting things together with the new 5150 whip. This thing is sweet. All wired up to the SP9100 and just waiting on the BAMF radio antenna mounting bracket to get the base installed.

Played musical mounts on the bed rails to get the whip mount and quickfists in the right spot. Time for a night run!

Haha that’s pretty fancy. I’ll take my manual process for now though…

I did get fed up with the tonneau cover rails and took the whole thing off. There was a lot of east-west movement from the whip with how the bracket was mounted on the bed rails that had to use the drop brackets. Nice and solid now.
    A2EA3274-D0C3-4B46-8DC9-E132F63123E6.jpg

I’m going to try to figure out how to mount the cover rails with the bed rails in place. I think the BakFlip MX4 has a different setup that I might be able to steal ideas from.

Added some Bull Ring stake pocket tie downs today. These things are pretty cool, and also added mount points that I can use for my chase lights. Now I need to buy or build a cable to extend my DT plugs to the back of the bed.

Did you go with the chrome surround version or is that the reflection and/or lighting in the picture?

With the chase light bracket, are you just samiching the metal with two washers on the edge? If there’s room, maybe move it to a corner to get a little more bite of material between the warshers
Never mind, it looks like your using the existing hole, that probably works well too

Yep I was able to hijack one of the bolt holes and the chase light bracket keeps it anchored down. Worked out pretty well.

Do you need a picture of the mx4 setup? Might have to do it tomorrow when it’s bright out but I can see how it looks after I put my son to sleep as well.

Major flashback for me too! Mine was 302 and 4 speed. The shift linkage would come out of joint in the middle of an upshift you'd have absolutely no gears. You'd have to hold the clutch in and wiggle it around for a few minutes until you could get it back into spot where it would shift. Good thing I grew up on gravel roads with that car.

Anyway, sweet build thread. Thanks for all the work uploading all the pictures and writing all the descriptions. It does help others.

Man, I wish mine had a 302 instead of the 4 banger lol. I probably would have kept it. You probably had a lot more fun in yours, at least when it was in gear haha.

And happy to help with the documentation :hattip:

Spent a little bit of time shining up the truck yesterday - it had been neglected since before we moved in late April. I also wanted to try out Adam’s Polishes graphene tire dressing. Great product, but a pain in the ass to apply on aggressive sidewalls (like every other tire dressing). Very happy with the results.

Tires after cleaning off all the old coatings/grime/bloom. They looked rough.
