No. The fill plug is a rubber gasket the drain and check plug are a smaller diameter than the differentials.

    Just finished doing mine

Whatever this forum told me to do
    drain & fill this weekend.

    dropped valhalla cat shields...hardest part.

    pinned thermostat

    drained 4 qts

    filled it with 4.5 qts

warmed it up to 105' (via Scangauge 3)

while running - open check valve ~1/2 qt came out till trickle.

put the cat shields back on.

    all is well...

except....I forgot to unpin the thermostat. not dropping the shields again!.. I guess we run cool for now

Did my change today I feared the temp would rise to fast and over shoot the temp. Day high temp whose 50 trans temp started at 75 it took several minutes to reach temp not a big deal easy to hit proper temp.

Dues the ATF thermal degradation need to be reset? I've read it kind of reboots the trans ECM

Just did this service today thanks to this thread and the factory service manual. I'll probably do it again at my next oil change and then call it good. I know the youtube dude said don't do it until it's red, or at each oil change. This may have been the first time it was changed and the truck is at 81k. I bought at 74k. I think once more is probably a good idea. Then every 20k or 6 years after that.

I did my first change at 60k and there where lots of metal shavings in the oil. Probably should have changed much sooner but under warranty and didn't.
