Thx. I'm really set on keeping the OEM specs with the drop, after all is said and done. ie caster/camber, etc etc..

I not the smartest guy! If you already have the factory rake, why not drop the back first and go from there.
It should give you a good base line, I would think.

I like the look of a reasonably lowered rcsb. I don't care for the wide flares or giant wheels, just a set of tasteful 20's would fill the wheel well nicely. Best of luck and post pics when you're done.

If you’re thinking of lowering it about an inch, you could experiment by cutting off one of the tines from the stock coil spring. Spring rate would remain the same so shock damping shouldn’t be affected. Should be easier to align afterwards. You could probably get a set of used stock coilovers with low miles for cheap on here from someone swapping them out for aftermarket coilovers. You could then experiment with those by cutting off a bit at a time until you get the desired height.

As for the rear, best to go with a custom leaf pack that’ll lower it the appropriate amount and retain the factory payload. May also need to get new, shorter shocks. I would call Bilstein’s tech line and ask which shocks to go with depending on the amount of drop. They probably don’t have a model specifically for a lowered Tundra, but may be able to suggest a model for a different truck that’ll provide similar damping that’ll fit.

If money is a problem, the free, old school way done back in the day was to hammer each leaf into a flatter shape using a heavy hammer and anvil. I helped a buddy of mine with that when he used to have his own shop about 20 years ago. All I can say, though, is that it’s a lot of physical work and requires experience and good measuring and eyeballing to make sure each spring is hammered correctly and just the right amount. Probably hard to find someone who’s had experience with that nowadays, though. Again, I’d buy a used set and experiment with it if you’re inclined to go that route.

Another cheap alternative is to remove a leaf or two, but then you’ll affect payload capability. Or, you could see if a spring under swap is doable, but I think the cost for a shop to do that would be just as much if not more than getting a custom leaf pack.

One thing to consider may be the load sensing positioning valve (or whatever they’re called nowadays). The lowered rear may make the valve or computer think the bed is loaded with cargo, throwing off the front/rear brake application. When lifting the rear, we would drill out some flat stock and use that to reposition and raise the valve correspondingly so the rear brakes would get the proper amount of braking force application. I’m guessing that lowering the rear may require something similar, unless our trucks now use an electronic sensor or some kind of yaw and pitch angle sensor. I’m just not that familiar with how they work nowadays.

Another thing to consider is the driveshaft carrier bearing angle. Just like lifting may affect it, so too can lowering.

I don’t think rear brakelines would be affected like they would when raising the rear. On older trucks, if raising just an inch or two, we would bend the brake line bracket to add more slack. But more lift would obviously require longer brake lines. Don’t think that should be an issue when lowering.

Bump stops front and rear may also be affected. Maybe get some used ones and experimenting by cutting them down a bit?

Anyway, just throwing out some ideas your way. Good luck and post pics when done!

I have a question about your license plate....I was told in UAE the smaller the number on the plate the higher prestige you are. Is that true?

Actually. I’ll be in Dubai in a few weeks. I may only be there for a day or so, just passing through. I’m in the area a couple times a year. I’d love to see your Tundra. I didn’t think that I’d be a fan of a lowered one, but yours looks mean as hell. Very nice!
