    3. (04 Tacoma) Ah the first brand new truck! Go into the dealer only knowing that I wanted a Tacoma. The new 05 models were coming out but I just wasn’t into the look yet. Ended up with the only 4WD they had on the lot. Black with beige interior 5 speed V6 and rear locker!

Truck was backed against a wall after all the paperwork got done and I’m so excited I forgot how to drive a stick. Slow rolled it back while trying to take off and dinged the bumper :facepalm:Later down the road went off-road in the pouring rain up a hill next to the freeway when I was driving to meet my girlfriend (Wife now don’t know how) buried the truck to the frame in mud and had to spend the night in the truck. Found out the next day CHP was looking for me and my family was checking local hospitals.

I made a lot of very dumb decisions back than and buying that truck was a huge one. I loved it but didn’t deserve it. Bought it and drove it with a suspended license and no insurance. I think the term is grand theft fraud. Drove it like I stole it until it was repossessed less than a year later. Good times :headbang:

    4. (87 4Runner) Da Fo runna! Oh shit this was hell but still one of my favorite yota’s. Bought it for $900 with a blown motor. Had been off of dirt bikes for a while at the time due to a broken back so I didn’t really need a truck. Got the motor rebuilt with a new clutch and threw some BFG’s on it.

Everything was ok at first until it started running like shit. Come to find out the valve adjustment on #4 cylinder was to tight after the rebuild. Ok no problem got it fixed. Next was the starter. Replaced and it failed again. Can’t tell you how many times I planned my parking to roll it to bump start! Bad reman, got another and it was ok. Wipers shorted all the time.

Anyway best memory was being pulled over by CHP coming down the hill from mammoth mountain with my younger brothers, a little beer breath and a few empty buds with a .22 strapped to the roll bar in the back. So cold outside the breathalyzer didn’t work! Dude just asked if I had eaten anything and sent me on my way. Great vehicle on and off road @290k miles.

    5. (04 Tacoma) Man was i hell bent on getting this one. 2.4l 4WD base model. Put bilstien shocks all around with the front at top notch and some shackles in the rear. Fit some Nitto 33” terra grapplers under it and never changed the gearing. Turned into a dog but didn’t care. Installed a K&N intake which was a huge mistake. Oil eventually pulled through and gummed up the whole throttle body. Once clean, it ran ok but still under powered. Drove it to Yosemite one year with my brother in the back taking Tioga pass. Thought he was never going to move again. Loved the truck but eventually came down to either her or a house. Sold right after I bought my first home.

    6. (Supra) Got this from my smog guy for $100 and had big dreams of turbo in my ears. Got new injectors from a local junk yard to get it going. The car was pretty gutted but was a side car. First time I got it running good, decided to take a stroll around the block. Pulled over for headlight out and paid the damn fix it ticket. Never really pulled it together to go ahead and boost it. Believe it or not, two gay dudes showed up after I posted it for sale and offered a bunch of fine china and two laptops for the car. They were in dire straits so I let it go (no homo). Sold the China later for over $300.

    7. (83 celica) don’t know why but I wanted a celica with a 22R. Found it with a couple hundred thousand miles on it for $800. Automatic but still pretty quick. Had a bad transmission leak. Kept me going to work for a while but the wife was sick of all the cars. Totally forgot about my 91 pickup too. This was somewhere between. Did a full timing set, radiator, front axles and aisin locking hubs. Another one of my favorite trucks.

Currently own four Toyotas. Recently sold one. One totaled.

    1) 1988 4Runner. Bought it in 2000 for $3000! She turned 30 this year. Still running strong at only 235K miles. :curls:
    Nickname: White PowerlessIMG_0260.jpg
    2) 1985 Hi-Lux SR-5 LB. Bought in '07, sold in '17 :( Hated to sell it but I needed something to tow with. Made a tidy little profit along the way.
Nickname: Gray MatterIMG_0413.jpg3) 2005 Tundra Regular Cab 4.7 4x4. Bought this to haul some toys around. Was looking for an AC actually when I found this. It has just over 226K but it's super clean, fully optioned, binder full of records and receipts, a bunch of upgrades(lift,4.56s,Rinolined), original owner(who bought a new Tundra), and under 5grand!?! :)
Nickname: Moby DickIMG_1515.jpg 4) 2003 Tacoma RC. Nothing special. Just a base white 5-lugger that runs like a watch. Nickname: Poolboy
    5) 2001 Tacoma RC PR. Again nothing special. This one's MGM. Low miles, runs strong. Has mild lift. We beat it up in the desert. Bought it from some old man. Can't get the funky smell out of it. :eek2:
    Nickname: Stinky
    6) 1999 Corolla. Was super clean. Was a quick, economical commuter. Was.
