Gruden is overrated.

Miller is great. And did well in the Superbowl. However he didn't ruin Brady. Brady was a 2 pt try from tying the afc championship and was a close game. And the 24-0 come back win was proof you can never count Brady out...but welker covers that punt we don't win with a fieldgoal.

That's why you can't rely on one player on d trying to take over a game. Against high quality offenses they will find a way to shut them down. You need a complete d to win playoff games.

 

One thing for sure Brad, Gruden knows Football, technology might have passed him, but fundamentally he is a guru. Lives and breathes it. Gonna be interesting fo sho

 

I think he'd be a great defensive coordinator...but a .500 win level is overrated. Especially with a 100M contract

For what it’s worth @rons23, John Elway has been making some Gruden decisions lately. The coach stinks IMO and he just hung on to his 1st round bust Paxton Lynch because his ego is making the decisions.

 

Agreed to a degree. I'm still scratching my head over the whole Mack deal. It sends bad vibes to the rest of the team that are trying to get a deal done. Hell if one of the best def players can't get a deal, your pretty much fucked. Dirty dealing Mack .

 

True, but Miller was up his ass the entire game and defiantly was a major factor in the direction of that game. I couldn’t agree more with your statement but some players you just do not trade IMO. You draft well and have depth and talent under manageable contracts. Would the Steelers trade AB?
Depth is critical and comes from quality drafts IMO.

 

Damn you guys are haters haha. I understand why they traded him. It’s hard to pay him 23.5 million a year while Derek makes 25. It sucks as a raiders fan but I understand it....don’t underestimate Arden key as a great replacement for super cheap

 

That’s about 50 million leave a little over 120 in cap room to sign 51 other guys. Which a lot are paid well

 

Steelers are dumb. They talk all this shit and never back it up. They have good players but Tomlin and his players have too big of egos to put away big teams as a team. Once Been goes it won't matter. Bell is a workhorse and is a better value than brown bn my opinion.

That's a toss up. As much as Bell does for the Steelers, I'd trade ab over Bell. AB is great don't get me wrong. But look at all the other great WR...how many have a ring? Take away Rice. And all were good but not take your team over the edge great to win a SB.

 

I can’t argue that. Bell is a hell of a talent and most importantly durable for a RB.

Ok so you named two. And from the seventies. How about today's era? Fitzgerald? None. Moss? None. TO? None. Antonio Brown? None. Megatron? None. And the list goes on.

A badass WR will not be the single piece to put you over the edge. I will take no names with a great QB and a defense over a BA WR any day. A dual threat RB is worth more IMO

 

Cowboys just released their most accurate kicker and the NFL’s 2nd most accurate for a guy who has yet to kick one. Sounds about right for the owner who fired his coach after back to back SB’s. Good thing I don’t really care for pro ball anymore.

I believe the coaching staff that makes the best of the available talent has a lot to do with it
I used to think that defense won rings, but after the #4 defense gave up 500 yards passing last year and still won

 

I am old school too. And defenses are handcuffed anymore. Too many rules favoring the offense(for safety and understanding, but I don't like them, especially babying the QB). Anymore it comes down to the coach/teams that make the better second half adjustments. Most teams are so close it depends on who makes mistakes and who capitalizes.
