After a week on a cruise and free drinks with 5 couples you don't get along with. You'll definitely never have a chance to be friends. Good luck.

In classic Tundras.com fashion, 95% of this thread is derailed talking about dogs humping and the other 5% actual answers on what OP is looking for

    Only been on one cruise
    - Found the the food to be good, not great. Things are not what your used to. Dr. Pepper was hard to find. LOL
    - Unless you want to do a specific excursion, just go a shore and find local driver/taxi and tell him to take you to good bar or restaurant or shopping area etc. Maybe even a beach.
    - Early dinner for sure. We ended up not going to a few dinners.
    - If not already, recommend an outer room with balcony. The extra space is great to be away from everyone.
    - Casino wasn't Vegas odds, easier to loose more money.
    - Don't tip the Matrardee, (or not much) they do nothing but greet you at dinner.

    Have Fun!!!

    Still rocking the stock height.
I have only been on one cruise. It was also a 7 day trip. It was good, but would have been better if we had gone with some other couples. The food was good. Get had an interior room, will not do that again, very small. Get out and do stuff around the ship. We did not have free drinks, wish we had gotten that. Best thing, is just have fun.

The one thing I don't do while on a cruise is sleep. I leave that for when I'm on the beach. There are serveral options for cashless adventure. The food is always free and make your reservations as early as possible so you actually get to do things. And you don't have to be in the group for every stinking thing!!! Plan out a basic wishlist itinerary for the week and then move dinner/lunch around them. If you go to shore, eat an early Breakfast and plan a late dinner (if eating back on the boat) otherwise, there are SOOOOO many things to do on and off the boat so look for and ask the locals (on or off boat) what to avoid, and what to get the jump on. If you speak any native languages... you can get whatever you want ... locally grown too. Lol!

    Most of all...
    Have fun

We've been on two cruises. The first one was a 7 day on Celebrity out of NYC to Bermuda. 3 days in Bermuda. The second was a 4 day on Royal Caribbean out of Miami with one day stops in Nassau, Coco Key (RC's private island) and Key West. Had great experiences both times. Can't wait to go on another one.
Once you walk across the gangway onto the ship, it's a whole different world. You're treated like royalty. Crew is very helpful. There's always someone cleaning something somewhere.
There will be a life boat evacuation drill before you leave port. You have to do it. They take roll and the ship won't leave port until everyone is at their rescue boat boarding stations. Trying to avoid it is a good is to piss everyone off on the ship which can make for a miserable cruise.
There are cruise newby orientations, usually in the theater, on the first day. Generally a waste of time.
Food is generally available on the ship from 6AM to sometime after midnight. Most was pretty good, some was just OK.
Since you have the drink package, you're golden.
Ship organized on-shore activities are overpriced. Book your own if possible. Nowadays, you can book a lot of them online before the cruise.
We went ashore in Nassau and weren't impressed so we went back on board. Spent the day on a nearly empty ship. Pool was almost uninhabited. Had a very relaxing time.
If your ship is going to a private island, book a cabana. It's worth it so you don't get roasted by the sun.
Dinner serving sizes aren't overly big, but you don't notice it because of all the other eating opportunities during the day. Special dietary needs are easily accommodated. We liked the early seatings for dinner. It leaves more time to do stuff after eating.
Shipboard entertainment is hit and miss but it's a good time to relax and unwind from the day's activities.
On our cruises, they asked that you wear slacks and a sport shirt for dinner. No big deal. The last evening is usually a formal dinner. If you don't have a tux, a suit is fine. You also get those people who don't cooperate and wear whatever they want to dinner. They stick out like sore thumbs.
They give out tip envelopes and a recommended tip amount lists on the last full day. Tip what you feel is best. Your room steward, waiter, waiter assistant work really hard and we have given them more than the recommended amount because they've really taken car of us. Same for the sommelier, if you're wine drinkers. Maitre d doesn't do much unless you have a problem. We haven't needed them so we give them a token amount.
The best thing that you can do is concentrate on enjoying yourself and forget about the rest of the world.
Disembarking at the end of the cruise is generally a PITA. Just grin and bear it.
    Have an awesome vacation!!!

I have gone on at least 50, week long cruises. All inclusive is the way to go. Great thing is these ships are rather big, so doing group stuff is fun, but you can get away by yourself. Quarters can be a little tight at times, but at least your snuggled up with someone you care for. Remember shower shoes!!!

Hopefully, you don’t have any battleships or skiffs firing upon you like I did. Commercial cruisliners didn’t have the same arsenal at your disposal like I did....:D

    Have fun shipmate.
