On my truck, the tow hooks are in about the same plane as my fog lights.

I'd have to be really mired up in mud to cover the hooks. Makes vehicle recovery so much easier when you screw up.

It's easier to find someone who'll agree to help drag your truck out if the tow hooks are accessible.

This would be a first for me as well on not having tow hooks.

I haven’t used my front mounted tow hooks in probably 15 years other than putting a dog leash around them when giving my dogs a shower.

I have to agree, no having them is weird whether you use them or not.

It flips up flat with the bottom of the truck. It is only deployed at highway speeds and if you do hit something with it deployed, it has a clutch on it to allow it to flip up and not cause damage to it.

Like it or not, the law is that "fleet gas mileage" has to be a certain number, and every little bit on every vehicle they make matters.

It won't be the first apparently idiotic feature or function that is on there in the name of mileage, but is easily defeatable or removeable.
Those going far enough off road to need real off road stuff are 1) A very small percentage of buyers 2) will modify the vehicle anyway. I'm sure they will just remove the air dam while adding their high clearance bumper, bigger tires, springs, shocks, winch, etc, etc.

All kidding aside. A lot of manufactures do this now, sell you the base and offer a lot of bolt-on accessories you can buy. Just look at a Harley, buy it and head right over the the parts counter to my more chrome.

You can say there's an aftermarket choice for 2022 models, but lack of factory front tow hooks is goofy.
[ QUOTE="MadMaxCanon, post: 2420106, member: 63566"]I imagine most people concerned about having recovery points would likely swap the factory bumper for a high clearance bumper anyway. Having said that, every new truck i have seen has tow hooks from factory.[/QUOTE]
Shouldn't have to mod a 2022 to have front tow hooks.
That plastic front chin looks like approach angle will decrease and the Pro skid won't cover it. And the Pro skid won't cover the airdam, so the first thing you hit on an obstacle is the plastic chin, then the airdam. Then you have to back out before you even hit the skid plate.
Crawl Control will help you reverse out after you've determined the front chin and airdam can't get over a 9" obstacle.
No pic I've seen has shown an air-to-fluid trans cooler.

Sorry guys, but the more I look at it I'm not impressed with some things Sweers & Co has done. In stock form anyway. It's an onroad MPG queen.

Backing up off of an obstacle will probably detach parts of the front bumper. If you watch the videos of under the front of the truck, you can see it's ripe for being snagged.

It'll be like owning a lowered car

That's when other people driving by notice a stuck truck needs help, but they also notice the hooks are stuffed and decide to keep on going

No, you carry a folding camp shovel, the same shovel you carry to dig out firepits, dig worms for fishing, dig out of a snowdrift, dig a cat hole. Use it to dig room for a tow strap to connect to your towhooks. If you have said towhooks, that is.

Toyota isn't making the new Tundra for the 2-3% of owners that take it off road and get it stuck. They're making it for 100% of the new owners that want better mileage while meeting EPA mileage regulations.

You get stuck so much you need to get towed out regularly? Either learn to drive so you don't get stuck or don't go there anymore. lol

Driving a truck off-road and trying to not get stuck is like having sex and worrying if she finishes first. If it happens it happens
