If you disconnected the battery or pulled specific fuses, yes, your DTE calculation will reset and get back to normal after a couple tanks

 

Did you make sure to enter/adjust your tank capacity in the settings? I did notice on mine that after I filled up completely that my radio gauge only showed 90% fuel.

 

I registered the XM tuners today. Got a little overzealous hitting "refresh" when I was doing the Kenwood radio in the Tundra and when I went to register the XM tuner for the Alpine in the 4Runner, they said I had to wait 24 hours.

Question though. When I click on XM in the Alpine, it says something about connecting to WIFI. Kenwood just comes on. Anybody figure out how to make it stop doing that in the Alpine? I know it's gonna drive my wife nuts who will, in turn, drive me fucking nuts.

 

So yes, I did disconnect the negative side. I filled up with gas in hopes ot would reset it. Hopefully over a few fill ups it goes back to getting really terrible gas mileage lol.

Where do you put the tank capacity?

 

I’m still trying to figure out how to disable the SXM pop up. I usually use the app on CarPlay when I listen to it though.

 

This is off the top of my head so it may not be exact, but hopefully will get you there.

Go into vehicle info from the home screen. / Settings / Vehicle Information / Fuel Economy / Tank Capacity

 

After re-reading your message again I believe you are talking about the range on the truck gauge cluster display correct? Not on the Alpine fuel settings.... Yeah, typically when you disconnect the battery terminal it will register much higher for a bit until the ecu adjusts. Give it a bit and then it will go back to normal.

 

I wasn't specific, its the range on my truck in the center cluster.

Maybe the ecu can magically turn my truck into a 18 to 20 mpg Tundra......

Happy to report, I finally got this thing installed and working, though I had an issue at first where the knob didn't want to connect. Finally, after un-pairing and re-pairing about 20 times (killing both the knob and my phone from the devices menu and fully rebooting the head unit) it's working as expected AND connecting when the key is turned on, without any intervention on my part. I'll report back after using it a couple days to make sure I'm not celebrating prematurely.

I still can't figure out the Siri being so quiet thing on my Kenwood. CarPlay music blasts and so do map directions. The phone ringing/talking is pretty quiet along with Siri. I have everything maxed out. Weird shit and I wonder if it has something to do with the JBL amp or it's some kind of glitch on my iPhone 12 (I saw somebody mention something about that on my zillion pages of searches).

Otherwise, I love the damn receiver. It sucks that I can't really hear my phone over the engine roar but I hate talking on the phone anyway, so maybe it's a Jobu thing.

 

You’ve tried hitting volume + while Siri is activated?

 

I signed my wife up for the 3/month trial for $2 thing and can't get it to activate and now it's not connecting to her CarPlay on her phone.

 

Yeah, I even told the bitch to speak up. She's at 100% volume.

 

I sporadically have low phone/carplay volume too. Can't figure it out.

I'm picking up a Z3 tomorrow & looking for radio solutions (it has a cassette deck in the dash & CD changer in the trunk) Crutchfield says

No worries.

The blocked vents are 100% no go for me, then there's the awful reviews that unit has plus I want to retain the vintage look. Leaning to an adapter that adds BT & other modern features to the oem system assuming the CD changer in the trunk works.

With the Kenwood? Do you have the JBL system installed?

 

Yes & yes.

Speakers are still using the JBL amp (all are upgraded Hertz)

It sounds pretty good I have been too lazy to run speaker wires. All the RCAs, remote turn on and power are run.

 

Mine sounds like the Siri and phone calls are coming through the front tweeters and center speaker only. Crutchfield had no clue. I’m going to try to contact Kenwood later and see if they have any ideas. I have an extra one but I’d rather not pull this one out just to install it and have it happen again.

 

There are settings for the phone/nav to set speakers somewhere, I have not looked for them. (I should) lol

 

I didn't realize you could switch out the JBL speakers with aftermarkets while still using the JBL amp. If your Hertzs are 4Ohm and the JBLs were 2Ohm, does that interfere with anything? I presume the JBL amp pushes out 2Ohm as well? I'm not very up and up on this obviously, but I ask because I want some Focal K2s up front and figured I wouldn't bother until I replaced the JBL amp as well, figuring they wouldn't work properly otherwise.

Hey guys just installed

$877 Kenwood dmx1037s 10.1" High Definition Car Stereo Receiver with Capacitive Touch Panel

Kenwood dmx1037s using the rr2 and just noticed compass on the dash doesn't work anymore anyone else notice this the Kenwood has a compass anyway n it's not a big deal to me just curious must have something to do with stock head unit

 

Yeah, it's explained somewhere around here. Had something to do with Toyota running something through something and when you removed the entune, you lost your compass. If it was still there it'd mean you did something wrong.
