So, it's a power source to possibly amplify the signal of the antenna. Got it. I only have the shark fin roof antenna on my truck. Well, guess I will got non-amplified for now.

There is a lot of room in the Tundra compared to the 4Runner. It was really tight in there, the damn dash trim was not straight, the screen blocked both AC vents and all of that had to be corrected. More than expected but the result was spectacular

It sounds like it would be great but when driving if you are under 7-8mph it will come on so stop and go traffic would not be fun on the highway and the cams would be on the entire time off-roading at a low speed.

I still cannot believe James has 9 cams on his Tundra

You just made me real glad my wife said, "pass" when I asked if she wanted one for her 4Runner. ha ha ha

Is that the 9 or the 11? I’ll be putting a 9 in my wife’s 4Runner and she’s gonna be bitching about the AC controls being partially covered…

I don’t think the 9 covers the controls as much. I already argued with her about the AC vent bottoms being a little covered up. Hardly any air comes out of the bottom part of the vent. It’s gonna be a fun time for me. :(

Yeah, I had picked up an extra one and sold it to him for cost. Did he get it installed yet? Did his wife kill him for partially covering up her 4Runner AC vents and controls?! Has anybody heard from him?!!!!

This is the 11” and the HU dash trim kit had the pocket below it and pushed it up to completely cover the controls. The way around it was to reverse the brackets and move the HU on the bottom and the pocket on top. That fixed that problem but presented another. Looking at it the screen was not level. Slightly off but enough to notice at first glance something’s was off. Losses screws, push, pull, hurry quick tighten that and she is level

Finally got f511 installed today. Think I have it sitting a little too low. Still have to mount mic and connect front camera.
Thanks to rainman and bighertz for all the install info.

Check the build link in my signature.
You’re only covering the “Tundra” above the AC controls - doesn’t look bad at all

Agreed, I am not a tall guy, but the way I keep my seat positioned I think it looks better when it's lower and this way it covers up the finish mismatch on those dash kits b/c it's not perfect.

Need some wiring help, I am installing a Pioneer NEX3800 with a 4 channel JL amp for the fronts and a sub, and want to run the rear speakers off the head unit. This is on a '19 Platinum w/JBL I have the Auto Harness House 4438 and 4439 harnesses, can someone help me with what connects to what so I can run the rear doors off the HU?

    https://www.autoharnesshouse.com/41112.html

I found a post that showed how this was done, but for the life of me cannot find it again.

And I know that is says those are not for the JBL, but the post I am referencing showed that the only difference was the wire color.

Or do I not need to do anything with the wiring since the amp did not power those speakers to begin with, and just need to unplug and toss the JBL amp?

A 4 channel amp isn’t going to have a sub output. You need a 5 channel or separate mono amp for your sub.

You can get those adapters that will allow you to use the OEM speaker wire with your new amp(s).

I will be bridging two channels for the sub.

I’ll be running new wire for the sub and front speakers, just looking to run the rears off the HU.

That might be tough since the wiring to the rear speakers runs off the amp. You’ll likely need to run wires all the way HU to rear doors or patch together the signal and speaker wires under the passenger seat. Why are you trying to make a 4 channel amp work for doors and sub?

Using the right amp(s) and OEM speaker wires would make it a much cleaner install.

Hmm, ok, thanks. I thought the rear doors were powered off the HU stock, that does change things.

Because I don’t really care about the rear, was going to hook it up just because. I may add a one channel down the road for the sub and run the doors off the 4 channel, I was hoping there would be an easy way to power the rear from the HU.

Dash speakers are the only ones that run off the HU in a stock setup.
