Sorry for my stating my opinions and personal experiences/observations.

Maybe I shouldn't do that going forward? If only there were an online venue where people could talk, chat, and discuss ideas and topics....hmmm.

To be fair to the ecoboost, turbo's are wearable items over the longterm (even on the 3/4 ton diesels). 120k miles is a bit lacking on longevity though.

That aside, I never understood the argument: Ford sells the most F-150's, ergo the F-150 is the best 1/2 ton on the market. McDonald's and Burger King also sell the most burgers...is anyone going to argue with a straight face that those are the best burgers on the market?

Ford, and the other 2 domestic OEM's, do get a lot of fleet/contractor sales. They also set up easy financing for those who frequently trade their vehicles. And for the first 2-6 years of ownership, I honestly believe that the 1/2 tons from the big 3 do fairly well. The issues start to arise when you get to 10 years and beyond....car journalists and the masses really don't keep track of vehicle quality and reliability at that point, so you don't hear a lot of commotion about the problems with those vehicles (whereas you definitely do with a newer vehicle). But the used-market buyers know which vehicles have better value and better durability....there is a reason why 10 year old Tundra's, and Toyota's in general, sell at better prices compared to 10 year old F-150's and Silverado's.

You don't have to apologize. I was just stating my opinions and personal experiences/observations.

Do you even own a Tundra? Ever owned one?

Well you seem to take offense to many of my posts, so I thought that an apology was in order (even if it was sarcastic).

Don't currently own one, but I drive them plenty enough for work and I'm well aware of the maintenance, quirks, and cost of ownership associated with them. Do you want to know how often I tow and what my average mpg is as well?

Granted this is a forum, so my expectations shouldn't be high, but don't you have better ways to spend your time than by monitoring and countering every post I make about this truck? It's like you're a nosey crow, ready to swoop down and pester me every time I say something which you disagree with.

No, I don't want your other details. But you sure do have a lot to say about how great these trucks are and you don't even own one. That seems hilarious to me. I should go start frequenting some chevy Silverado forums just because I have driven a few as rental vehicles and here at work.

If me countering your pro-Tundra opinion bothers you - then just hit the ignore button. The Tundra isn't that great of a platform. I used to think it was the best 1/2 ton available, but my personal experience with this truck has soured me on them. My Tundra will do for now - as I don't really want to pony up the coin for a new truck, and I may still pass it down to my son when he turns 18 (if I haven't gotten too frustrated with the truck and gotten rid of it by then) - but I sort of regret buying it now. Too many problems for this level of capability.

Hmmm??? Did I say that I drove a few in the past as rentals or that I currently drive them for work? I might have to go back and reread my earlier post, because in my mind there is humongous difference between the two.

As for me being "bothered:" quite simply, I'm not. On the other hand, someone who deliberately goes out of his or her way to instigate a confrontation or argument with someone else strikes me as "bothered." In fact, I think there is an informal term for people who do that frequently on the internet.

Have fun doing that though; you certainly seem to derive enjoyment from it. At least, I hope you do...otherwise I have no idea why you'd spend so much time and effort doing it.

Don't really care much whether some other truck is good or bad, be it a Ford, Chevy, GMC, Ram, or Titan.

I'm very happy with my '13 CM, and at age 72, it's the last truck I'll ever own......even if I drive it for another 20 years, as I did my previous truck.

GMC is just a Chevy with a fancier trim package. I have owned a Chevy....but not a HD truck. Only a Suburban.

You need to inform them on Texas Fishing Forum of the Toyota Bonus Bucks fishing program where you get paid extra money for placing in certain tournaments. Also they have a free Owners Tournament that brings about 170 teams and pays $5k to the winner, did I mention it was free oh yea I did. Do the other manufacturers do that for the sport of tournament bass fishing? I don't think they do.

Hmm.....maybe the fact that ford sells a million F150’s a year is 1. Fleet sales and 2. They keep crapping out

Numbers/statistics are rarely so cut and dry. Sale numbers don't always equal quality.

I will say two of my family members have had no problems with their 2012 f150’s but another one had to buy another ford after 1 year due to turbo blowing up his engine.

I’d much rather go with a tried and true truck than a 50/50 chance.
