Fieldcraft Survival/Mobility Course and Trail Run - December 22, 2018

Fieldcraft Survival held a Stop the Bleed course and Introduction/Coffee Meet at the headquarters in Prescott, AZ. It was a good excuse to gather the group for a day trip and check it out.

Oh definitely! Much longer day trip than anticipated, but Sedona is always worth it

End of the Year Adventure - December 28, 2018

Huge thanks to Joe @JoeRyno for putting this awesome end of the year adventure together! We wrapped up 2018 with some camping, wheeling and quality time with our best friends  First stop was in Jerome, AZ to meet up with Joe and Matt @overkilloverland since they were already a couple days into the overlanding trip.

Our goal for the day was to head up Mingus mountain and find camp before any of the nearby storms rolled in. It was pretty cold for AZ, but I was hoping for some snow anyway

The famous AZ Sunset showed its true colors as the sky cleared up before dark, and well this was the point I started to worry about the cold o_O
    [IMG]

Joe made quick work of some nearby fallen trees and made us a nice wood pile, but the temperature continued to drop below freezing with clear skies

The next morning was rough to say the least! Once we officially got up my truck was reading 15 degrees with a slight breeze! We actually didn't get out of bed till the sun came up and even then it was too cold to walk about. Although we kept food and water in our trucks, everything froze. I remember some distinct words coming from Joe once he got up and realized he couldn't even make coffee  My Wife, pup and I stayed snuggled up in the RTT as long as possible with our little buddy heater

I did eventually get out and it was a fun attempt at making breakfast with a Jetboil in that weather. Luckily for us, our friends @PLC721 and @white_sherpa showed up at camp with donuts and were also shocked at how cold it was. We left camp and continued on our journey toward Sedona for the day.

End of the Year Adventure Continued - December 29, 2018

First stop of the day was a nice sit down breakfast near Jerome in a town called Clarkdale. From here we drove along the Verde River towards the Western side of Sedona. We ended up at Robber's Roost as our first destination on the trails. It was so awesome and well worth the hike! The views were incredible as always and as many times as we've been to Sedona I couldn't believe this was our first time learning this place existed!

End of the Year Adventure Continued - December 30-31, 2018

The Wife and I said our goodbyes to everyone from Sedona and headed off to Flagstaff for our own New Year's Eve adventures. Williams, AZ was our first stop and of course we had to check out the Grand Canyon Railway. We almost had the town to ourselves since Christmas had already passed, and the weather was beautiful!

We had the rest of the day to kill so we looked up some alternate route fire roads to Flagstaff on Gaia and started exploring. I love snow wheeling too! The Toyo R/Ts do surprisingly well in the fresh powder! Photo Dump commencing in 3, 2, 1......

The next morning on New Year's Eve may as well have been my Christmas Morning! We woke up to a blizzard and everything was under a couple inches of snow! My favorite breakfast in Flagstaff hands down is the Wolfpack from Over Easy

Our goal for the day was to reach Edge of the World for the first time. Little did I know, we were in for quite the dash through the snow!

Well we made it to Edge of the World.....never considered that the storm would prevent me from seeing that gorgeous view of Sedona I've always wanted to see..... I was pretty bummed but we had a blast driving through all the snow even though my cold face says otherwise

I have more stories and videos posted on my Instagram from this trip, but this was the end of the road for us. We attempted to take a detour off this trail onto Highway 89A into Sedona but the entire town was gridlock due to a couple accidents so we were forced to head back to Flagstaff. This was totally fine with us anyway. We made a pitstop at NAU for our pup then met up with my good buddy Chad from American Adventurist for drinks and a few New Year's Eve toasts

After install and only at full droop, the leaf springs barely made contact with them. It wasn't enough to worry about though

    New Year's Day 2019! - Sedona, Arizona

Yes we are finally in 2019! It has taken me 10 months to post any 2019 pictures in here, but I assure you there are some more legendary photo dumps coming! New Year's Day we set out to visit Sedona again before heading home. Northern AZ was already on track to beat a 100 year old record snowfall, and later on in February it did, but we made it to our favorite city once again! This was our first time seeing the gorgeous red rock city covered in fresh white powder, and we happened to meet up with Manny in his awesome Quicksand Tundra to run Broken Arrow. Coincidentally we later found out the trail was closed behind us so we had the normally busy trail all to ourselves New Year's morning:drool:

    Lake Pleasant Mudfest - January 6, 2019

This was probably the worst mud run to date and it will forever be apart of our trucks! @PLC721 Except for @JTS2019TUNDRA of course since this trip caused him to just sell his Tacoma instead of washing it and buy his current Tundra! Other than the ridiculous mud, it was a cool area with fog and some light rain, which makes any Arizona trail a new spectacle

Before @Durobumps he was mainly known as the Plastics Guy. With that being said I asked him to make some inner fenders after the mudding trip so here's some of the prep work for the molds he made, all using cardboard and duct tape. This was also the beginning of BAJA PREP!

EXPEDITION X OFFROAD: BAJA CALIFORNIA DAY 1

It's a year overdue... but BAJA is as awesome as they say it is! The raptor guys from Expedition X Offroad were kind enough to let me tag along and TRON had no issue keeping up  It was a 4 day 750 mile offroad muddy mess but so worth every minute! I'll let the pictures do the talking. We met up in a parking lot in Southern California and prepped for our epic adventure

EXPEDITION X OFFROAD: BAJA CALIFORNIA DAY 2

With roughly 12 hours of total travel time on Day 1, we were petty exhausted waking up in San Felipe. TRON had some slight mishaps in the bed, specifically the bedslide... It was pretty disappointing to see the bedslide fail the way it did regardless of the offroad conditions. Unfortunately that meant a lot of my gear was either tossed around and damaged or destroyed! Regardless we pushed on through the MUD! Our new destination was back across El Diablo lake bed and Southwest to San Qunitin.

The San Felipe whoops were insane! I was by no means prepped for the massive whoops, but they picked a good stretch of trail for these pics :burnrubber: My ADS @ADS_Racing_Shocks paved the way and DuroBumps made the ride even smoother!

I have some videos of this area and cockpit footage up on my Instagram @st3f3ns if you wanna check them out. It was such a cool experience and sadly this was barely my first time ever on a dry lake bed!

EXPEDITION X OFFROAD: BAJA CALIFORNIA DAY 2 Continued

Soon after the whoops and lake bed, we started climbing through the mountains across the Baja peninsula to the town of San Quintin. The views were incredible and it's where @JTS2019TUNDRA and I began to notice all the change in scenery during the trip. With all the rain we found more mud and a massive washout that stopped us for awhile. We broke out all the maxtraxs and spotted for most of the trucks.

Quickly found more mud and this would be officially the worst stretch of mud for the entire trip! It hurts just thinking about this part :goingcrazy:

San Quintin sure is amazing. First time there last year as my wife has family and we stayed here. Back of the hotel is all to yourself and has some dunes and the water is right there. The last picture was from our balcony.
