One of my favorite tundra builds. Just awesome all the way around. Even inspired several mods on mine.

Three Feathers to Chiva Falls - October 20th-22nd, 2017

Back at it again for a full camping trip on the Chiva Falls Trail! This time would be quite a bit larger, and with all sorts of Yotas  We packed up a couple trucks and left late Friday afternoon to secure a camp spot. Here we have my buddy Ryan @Help showing off his battle scars from the prerun

Had to grab some grub before heading out so we hung out with Alex @05tacomabro and he was kind enough to supply us with a ridiculous amount of firewood! Thanks again man

From there we were off and it was time for a Night Run  Gotta love that big ass decal on Ryan's Tundra!

Our campfire for the night, pretty cool backed right up to the wash walls in the sand. Perfect way to end the evening after a long work week! Now it was time for a full day of adventure.

A beautiful start to the day and perfect view from my morning "duties" #shitemoji

Jamie in his Tacoma and Nick in the T4R joined us late the night before so they could start the day with us.

Once we were up and ready to roll, @PLC721 and Ryan left their trucks at camp and jumped in with me since we would be taking on 3 Feathers. This would also be my first time ever attempting it from the harder route going from the bottom, and climbing up the obstacle ;) Pat hooked me up with some cool action shots on the way there

Three Feathers to Chiva Falls - Continued

Continuing on from my second successful climb to date on the almighty 3 Feathers, I was feeling pretty good. Rinzler struggled in 2WD, but with enough skinny pedal I made it. Tron in 4LO was just too easy, and helped me realize I have the perfect setup height-wise to take on the most extreme trails I'm comfortable doing in this limo  All that's needed to make it absolutely perfect is a @pelfreybilt Hi-clearance rear bumper  also maybe some air lockers... Nonetheless, my heart was content for the day, and the goal was to meet up with the rest of the group coming out that morning. I would lead the less brave trucks back to camp through the easier 2WD route and Alex @05tacomabro would lead the other half back down 3 Feathers. This plan was perfect in theory as we were right on time when all of a sudden just as Jamie @JTS2014TACO flawlessly finished 3 Feathers...."Uh oh, your ICON broke!"....

Pretty crazy the brand new RXT Rear shock broke that way, definitely worthy carnage on the trail. We just pulled the shock and Jamie ran the rest of the day with 3 shocks ;) Since this slowed us down abit I sped ahead to meet the rest of the group, and it wasn't long before we realized Alex talked EVERYONE into coming down the harder 3 Feathers route haha. You know, the exact trail we just almost completed  I was surprised to see everyone worked up the courage, but it ended up making the trip that much better. We did a 10 point turn and were back on the trail with the main group :headbang:

    Monster Tundra! @JoeRyno

    I love this FRONT CAMERA!

My buddy Christian rocking his Tundra with a stock bumper gave me flashbacks to my first time out there with Tron haha...

You can see his drone flying way above him
    [IMG]

And then a view from his drone back at me haha
    [IMG]

Now that we were all lined up at the top, it was time to head back down 3 Feathers :D Thanks to Jamie for more pics
    [IMG]

Then Christian making his way down, I think I was sweating more than him at this point
    [IMG]

Another Drone shot of the traffic jam

With no more carnage, everyone made it to camp! Jamie successfully ran up and down 3 Feathers with only 3 Shocks  Good job buddy

After a quick lunch break at camp we continued on to Chiva Falls. These pics taken from Christian's DJI Mavic Pro and the video are so expensive!! haha obviously because I now have to buy one...

Honestly I had a video of him going when we found out the shock broke and I immediately turned the camera around at me and my ADS shirt and was talking all sorts of crap

Icon has yet to release any info on why that happened but yea the bolt stripped right out of the top hat of that shock. Completely SOL. Pretty impressive and he only had the shocks on 1 trail prior to this one, definitely wasn't beating on them so I'm not sure other than poor design..

I thought I saw in your thread somewhere that you installed power to your bed and RTT. I went back and couldn’t find it. Was I hallucinating or am I correct? If so, can you shoot me to that post and some details?

Ahh wow! You would do some like that lmao!! All good that’s part of the game. Really hope they take care of him. A friend ran that same exact shock.. straight out the box installed it put it back on the ground, upon compression fluids all over the floor. They replaced it no questions asked.. It happens I guess.. your bud could’ve been worse, glad he was able to limp out of there.

I bought a 12V power kit off Amazon awhile back but never installed it as I saw a full kit with wiring and all was available. Unfortunately their business has disappeared so I put that install on a back burner. The tent does have 12V power ran using my jump start pack that just sits in the bed. Pretty useful for the time being.
Damn yea since he bought the shock from SDHQ they immediately replaced the shock for him and they sent it to icon. That does suck tho, and definitely isn't the first time I've heard of them leaking.... Don't tend to hear any of those things from ADS

Haha, poor Icon. Although I do know a guy who broke a rear ADS triple bypass on his Tundra about a month ago. It looked like the top broke/stripped/came loose similar to that Icon then dropped down and was ripped off the truck. Someone he was wheeling with grabbed it on the trail. He said he didn’t even feel anything. So I guess those of us running ADS aren’t immune to these types of failures. I’ll try and find a pic and post it.

Damn that's shitty, I would like to see pics
For my buddies taco? Yea he had everything specific needed for those shocks including icons new leaf packs to go with the RXT setup.
Yea I have a permanent LED light, and 12v socket with 2 USB charging docks all in the tent, and then an extension 12v male plug that runs out and plugs into my jumper pack in the bed

Haha, yeah he goes hard off road. It’s the only failure I’ve seen with an ADS shock on a Tundra. Doesn’t change my opinion of ADS, still run mine without worry!

But yeah this is a first for me.. Still doesn't change my opinion as well.. I'm sure ADS took care of him?
