Ok question...not sure how most of you would approach this, but I figure I think trust y’all more so than anyone else...ok I have the Super White crewman and after I bought it and started washing it, I noticed that the clear pieces they had put near the wheel wells and bottoms of doors look terrible on my White paint...you can see the dirt build up along the edge of the film and there’s a couple places where it has started to peel off and chip and more dirt and grime is getting into that...I do like the idea of having that added protection but it being white...not sure it should have only been little pieces...maybe cover more where you can’t see the edges idk...I test drove an MGM pro before I bought this one and it had the film on the whole front hood and front sides I think

I guess the question is, should I get it taken off and replaced with something that doesn't have any visible edges? or just take it off?

I looked at a new 2019 white Platinum on the lot that had the film on the front of the hood and you could see dirt build up on it, looked like a small black pinstripe across the front.

Does this stuff actually do anything? Wife's Venza has it, and a rock chip right on the nose, through the plastic, paint and showing metal. What's the point of this stuff?

I installed Sun Tek paint protection film on quite a bit of my truck. I love it.

Protects against bugs, rock chips, and me accidentally scraping it with a metal object.

I have it on the hood buldge, grill surround, front fenders, hood, A pillars, door cups, rear door sills (kids getting in and out, the factory sill covers aren't as big as they should be).

Someday I will probably do the top of the tailgate too.

I assume this is just another accessory the F and I guys at the dealership sell to "protect your investment." My truck came with the clear plastic on the edges as well as behind the door handles.

Ok then, well thank you guys for the input. I appreciate you all chiming in. I think just because, I'm going to take it in to the dealer for a peek and maybe they can replace and maybe add a little more to have edges where they cannot be seen. I just see a little yellowish tint to my super bright white tundra and I don't care for it.
