Got a great deal on a set of slightly used LED headlights. Added the LED fog lights as well. Makes the truck look 10x better. Now we wait for night time to see how good they really look.

All I’m saying is if you made and sold custom harnesses to convert tail lights and head lights from 2nd to 2.5gen trucks they’d sell.
I’d love a pro bed on my truck, or an updated interior-seats, or facelift. But the wiring seems like a nightmare.

I think I would rather buy a 2022 extended cab and cut it down.

I really think I want to do like a newer Camaro or corvette type interior into a 60s Chevy truck. Or maybe do a new mustang setup in an old Ford truck.

A guy on YouTube is putting a 2018 ish Silverado dash into an 80s 4 door crew cab Chevy. It looks pretty sweet so far.

Also I have thought about the 22 TRD forged wheels but they might be a little to shiny for me. Definitely a contender when wheel change comes.

New to the Forum guys! So i came across this thread a while ago and was intrested in doing this to my 07 Crewmax, I found a wrecked 19 and can get the etire dash, center councle and door panles for $500. Current truck has a Non-auto dual climate control. My question is if i get a 14+ digital dual climate control and ECU and kept the original AC system in place will i still have dual zone just no AUTO? will it still funtion like how it does now? i dont realy care about Auto but dual zone is a must cause of the old lady lol. I dont want to have to rip the AC box out. Mayby retrofit my original AC contoles to the new style? id just have to drill a hole and mount the old fan speed else where?

Is this what is done to make the 14+ digital dual ac control work properly in the conversion? If so easy enough.

You won’t get many responses on this a lot of unknown around it as it’s not something most people consider doing.

What trim level is the 2019? If my memory serves me correct the 2014-2021 is either single zone AC with the 3 big knob controls or it’s dual zone auto with the panel having a digital lcd with temp setting. Don’t think I have seen a dual zone without the auto function.

My research showed the dual zone AC box in my 2007 is the same as the newer ones for the most part. All of the AC internals in my dash are 2007, but I have a 2016 Dual/Auto control panel with the accompanying AC amplifier/ecu. I added the temp sensor and extra servo mentioned in that write up to have the memory temp stay saved and the auto function work. Without the extra servo and extended servo wiring harness the ecu throws a trouble code and resets on every boot up so it keeps no memory.

Mine is a fully working dual/auto AC setup using newer control panel and ecu that run the older HVAC box and servos.

I wouldn’t exactly recommend the 2019 because the newer instrument cluster 2018+ is a real pain to interface with the older truck. As far as I know I am the only one with the ability to make it work and it’s far from just plug and play.

For that matter the entire dash swap is a lot of work. I would suggest you be very proficient in 12v+ automotive wiring and electronics. Understanding and reading wiring diagrams is a must.

I super appreciate your response brotha. So the plan is to gut the 2019 for everything just to have, get a gauge cluster from a 14-17 and AC control with auto and ECU and basically to what you did. I just needed the reassurance about the whole AC deal. It's happening now lol Thanks to you for doing the research. I work with a bunch of control technicians and plan on one of them making me some plug and play harnesses.

Cool good luck on the swap, its alot of work but take your time and it can happen. You will learn a lot throughout this process. I would recommend start studying wiring diagrams now.

This kind of project has several hurdles as you go. Leaning the communication between the ECUs to understand what signals drive what, what wires you need to move where ect. Having to reprogram the mileage in your new cluster. Understanding and finding the right servo harness, temp sensor, AC ecu for the AC Swap. It took me about 2 months to get all the bugs worked out of mine but I eventually got it.

New favorite photo… truck has been parked last few weeks. If it was not 120 degrees everyday in Texas I would be cruising it around more.

Have you tinted you front windshield? They have 70 and 80% tint, basically clear, that cuts down on uv. And it should be legal in TX. Helps a ton

    Also looks great!

Ten years ago I had a friend who tinted his windshield 50% but he had a buddy who’s wrote him inspection stickers. Texas just did away with vehicle inspections for most of the state starting in 2025 I think. I need to get the front window tinted soon. My friends truck was so nice, it was like wearing sunglasses everyday in Texas summer.

Can't do it if you're in Harris or Montgomery counties, bud. The inspections remain for the counties with 50k or more residents (I believe it's 50k).

It’s based on emissions and population. I think Bexar county voted it out however.

Also I’m in Brazos county …. Would never move to Harris, way to many people.
