Glad your family is ok. I hope they arrested and jailed the drunk driver, it could have turned out much worse.
Hang in there, it will may take a little while to go through the insurance process.

    A LOT... NEVER ENDS
Glad your family is OK, trucks can be replaced family can't.

Tundo will be totaled, I would almost bet on that. defiantly take any aftermarket parts off before its gone. I would almost buy shit rims from a junk yard, especially since your set looks good from the pictures.

The dance with insurance companies SUCK but it will all work out.

Terrible news. Glad no one got hurt. Super lucky indeed. Definitely don't take first settlement offer. Also sometimes it can take a couple of days for soreness to set in. I'd get a lawyer.

Crazy hit, but looks like the truck did its job and the family is safe. Like others said buying another truck isn't an issue, be tough with the insurance company. I had a truck a few years back that had a similar hit on the passenger side from a lady running a stop sign and they wouldn't total it. They put 12k worth of work into it and I had only bought the truck for like 14k 30 days prior, crazy. Needless to say I sold it off a year later. Good luck with your situation.

I have spent the last several years as a special investigator for several major carriers, and while fraud is what am am after, I have learned a few things along the way.

You have notified the carrier of the loss, provide them with either the police report or at the least the police report #. Start doing your due diligence and value your vehicle in the area in which you live with the options it has. Mods are going to be tough, if you have receipts for the mods put them together. Some carriers will cover mods and some won't. Some need to be notified and the mod added to the policy and some don't. Use Carmax, KBB, NADA, etc. the numbers will all be different. Also check local dealer ads. Most claims adjustors will offer the low end at first and it becomes a negotiation. (my daughter was recently t-boned and her vehicle was a total loss. I did the research and valued her apple to apples replacement at 19K.The carrier offered 16K. a month and half later we settled at 19K.) Feel free to reach out with any questions.

I would really reconsider taking anything off the truck other than stereo equipment or non structural items.

Tires and wheels, I would leave on the truck. There was a lot of side force and who knows if there is stress fractures to the wheels. It would be horrible to buy a new truck, lift it, put the crash wheels and tires on and then have another accident due to wheel failure.

    Just a thought.

Very good point, especially since the OP said the truck was about to turn over until it was hit again by the second car. That amount of weight concentrated on the two wheels, who knows what that may do to the wheel.

damn... how fast were both vehicles going? for such a massive impact, it looks like the tundra held together very well. you don't really see much intrusion into the cab.

Those are the side airbags that went off. Driver panel was pushed in 1 inch. Witnesses say the truck may be doing 50-60

I'm glad everyone is OK. My advice is to get a lawyer quick. My wife was rear ended and the car was obviously totaled. The first offer from the insurance company wouldn't even cover the cost of the new tires I'd put on a couple of weeks before. A week of haggling improved the offer, but not much. The insurance company never re-reimbursed us for the medical bills, the paperwork kept getting "lost". I should have called one of the lawyers that advertises that they specialize in accidents, but I was still optimistic enough to think that I'd get fair treatment. I no longer hold that delusion. Get a lawyer that will hold their feet to the fire until you get a reasonable settlement with no out of pocket on your end. With luck, the drunkard has insurance and a license.

No dumb questions here. Firstly, happy to know that the family’s ok. Give them a lot of hugs tonight. Next step will be your insurance company will send out an adjuster to evaluate the total damage. Your insurance company will then contact the other drivers insurance company and give them the bad news. You should receive a loaner car until things settle out. Any out of pocket expense on your part will be reimbursed. The inconvenience is a pain, but be cooperative and don’t let them low ball you on your trucks value (in the event it’s considered a total). You SHOULD NOT lose a dime on this accident. Medical issues could come up, so keep an eye on neck, back and emotional stuff like no sleep, ptsd etc. Take it to the insurance companies, and DON’T sign off on anything at this time. Take care.

Glad your family is ok. I agree with those above who said to lawyer up. Also would be good to have your family seen by a physician regardless of their current state. Often things don’t start to hurt until days after the accident.
