Hey fellow Tundra owners! Thanks for adding me. Have had my 06 first gen SR5 DC since 2008. Have put 174K miles on her and she still runs like new. I’m a believer in those timing belts! I just finished upgrading the stereo/speakers last weekend and about to add steering wheel controls to a non-JBL/non-nav so I’m searching your older posts for info on hooking up a new steering wheel w/controls. Not sure yet if I need to build a harness or scavenge a plug out of the wrecking yard. My truck didn’t have the notorious third (extra) plug (nav/swc) on my radio harness like some of you may have, so I’ve got to build from scratch or hope the harness in the steering column has the plug/wires needed? If anyone has any links that might help me, it would be much appreciated. I’ve found a lot but not much on the signal wire or wires needed to go back to the Kenwood head unit. Looks like some great info here.
    Thanks for having me!

    Welcome from Dallas Texas..

OMG this makes me miss my 2005 DC..
I wanted to keep it longer than 10 years but an accidental issue occurred..
    I currently have a 2014 DC, but I miss my 2005.
I miss the 4.7 MPG and the roll down back window...

Hello and welcome from S.W. Oregon, those 1st gen. Tundra's are really good looking, I see a lot of them around our area, many look like they just came off the dealership showroom floor, it's amazing how well their paint has held up.

Wow! Thanks for the great welcome folks!! Just got around to seeing them! Been putting new sound system in and retrofitting steering wheel controls as well. It’s a hell of a challenge but so far going great! I’ll post pics soon!

Did they stop with the roll down back windows for certain year models? My 2020 has it.

Crewmax has the roll down rear window, the double cab has either a solid or slider rear window.
Some of the double cabs have power sliders.
I don't need that big seat, rather have the bigger bed, so I bought a double cab in 2014.
But I miss the rear window going down.

Oh gotcha. Yeah that's one of the coolest features of the Tundra. I love being able to roll the back window completely down.
