New Pilot, slightly used GX460, unless she needs good mileage, then Pilot. I don't think anything else on the market meets the quality.

Used GX460/470's are not too expensive. We have been looking at one to replace my wife's van when it finally dies. It's a Sienna, so we have probably another 6 years though.

Glad your wife is okay! Car/Trucks can be replaced.

This is what I got for my wife. 2006 Lexus GX470, w/ 55k miles. Owned by a 80 year old couple. Got this for her in 2016. Currently has 73k miles. Still very, very low mileage for a 2006! These GX470s are simply awesome for traveling. Of course I had to tint the front windows, Husky rubber matts (F, M, R) add some FN Wheels and Falken Wild Peak AT3w rubber to make it Badazz!

Glad to hear your wife is ok. My wife has a Highlander and absolutely loves it. She went from a small corolla to this and the biggest advantage she says is the view. Says she can see all around the vehicle. That would be my vote. Good luck, again glad to hear the wife is ok.

Glad she is ok. Our 2012 pilot met a similar fate when a Benz smashed into my wife pushing her into 2 other cars. Pilot and Benz were totaled, but my wife walked away without a scratch.
Replacing a vehicle like that is tough. It checked a lot of boxes and was really a jack of all trades and reasonably priced for what it offered. Good luck choosing a replacement.

    Not nearly enough room here!
We have 5 Pilots in the family. Mostly because of how our first new one has served us.Wife's first one, 04 EXL 4X4,this is it with 361,000 miles. It's more vehicle than her 09 Touring model but 'I' wanted her to have all the features. If I had it to do over, I would've bought her an 08 (last year for gen 1) for her "retirement vehicle" .Resized_20200219_140147(1).jpg If my 2010 Tundra does nearly as well as this Pilot, I'll be happy!

Get the luxury version of the pilot, an Acura Mdx. We have a '16. Great on gas, pretty luxurious, top pick for overall safety, loads of space, and reliable. My only complaint is the 9speed transmission is very jerky. Idk if they have corrected it since 16. Rumors of a new model coming in the next year or so. If you like a more sporty look and feel the a spec model is very nice as well. Good luck

When we were shopping, the MDX's weren't 8 passenger vehicles. For us, that was a deal breaker.

We are a family of 4 (hoping not to expando_O) having 7 seats was more of a if we need it thing. But in the last 4 years of ownership I think the back seat was used once when my dad crammed himself back there. Totally unusable for an adult and now we just caravan vehicles. Honestly if we needed a third row I'd be hard pressed to find something that also ticks all of the boxes that the honda/ Acura provides. Being a "petrol head" I kind of hate to say it but I might hold out for an EV for our next family car. Recently drove a performeance model Y and was literally blown away with its speed.
