    Hi Tex.

    Your truck looks amazing!

Are you still encountering zero rubbing on stock height? I'm going with Ray 10's which are the same offset as Methods and KO2's which are almost identical in height as the Ridge Grappler's. I don't want any rubbing or trimming. Any advice? Thank you!

thank you! I experience zero rub in my day to day driving. The only run I experienced was in reverse over uneven terrain with the wheel at full lock…and it was minimal rub at best.

Good luck with your setup - am sure it will look great!

    thanks!

In your opinion are the SS3 Pros enough for actually driving in fog? Or if you were buying again would you get the Max?

Matt, how are the Ridge Grappler treadwear holding up? Also, how do they perform on wet roads and how is the ride comfort? Thx

I am really happy with my Pro's for my use cases (inclement weather and backroad driving). That being said, I'm sure the Max's are even better and ridiculously bright. I was a little price conscious when I bought the Pro's though. If you have the means, I'd say go for the Max's but you also won't be disappointed with the Pro's either.

Big fan of them so far. I haven't measured the tread-wear yet but after 5k miles - they look even and I have no complaints. Road noise is minimal (I was concerned about this but was shocked by the lack of noise driving after they were mounted). Ride is slightly more rigid / bumpier than stock but no complaints from my wife (she hated the way my last care rode) lol. When it comes to wet roads - I noticed when it just starts raining and I am heavy footed, they spin slightly taking off from a stop. I have had zero issues with acceleration, stopping, or turning in heavy rain or super wet roads. I think part of the reason I dont run into many traction issues is because 275's are not that wide. Not sure where you live but they did great in the snow in AWD. Spun like hell when getting going in the snow in RWD.

Thank you for the update Matt as I really appreciate it. I reside in Vancouver, BC, CANADA which is the rain capital of CANADA. Having said that, we do see the least amount of snow in all of CANADA. We definitely see all four seasons yearly.

I purchased KO2's from Costco in the US for $1246.41 USD which amounts to $1616.41 CAD. I do also love Costco's warranty! Surprisingly, I can purchase the Grapplers in CANADA for just over $1100 CAD, when including the current cash rebate. I'm not concerned about the extreme winter rating as we don't see enough snow for that to be a concern. I'm more concerned about treadwear and ride comfort. From everything I've read from members that have owned both, many state that the Grappler's perform better than the KO2's in the snow. I plan to run the tires all year round. Any recommendations? Thanks again Matt!

FWIW, if I wasn’t able to find Ridge Grapplers in the size I wanted, KO2’s were my next option. I think they are both great tires and you can’t go wrong based on what Ive read. I can’t give you a fair answer though as I’ve never owned KO2’s. I am really pleased with my RG’s though and they have seen all types of weather with no real complaints.

Thanks Matt. I appreciate all of your input. I love your truck as it looks awesome in Cement. I cancelled my KO2's earlier today as I'm definitely sold on the Grapplers. They are just more suited more for rain and all weather performance as well as on road ride quality and less road noise. I find it odd that the Grapplers are far less expensive than the KO2's in CANADA and it is the other way around in the US.

I wound up buying the pros in the amber fog pattern. It's plenty of light for inclement weather, and lots of light to see the critters on the sides of the road.

Awesome - you’ll be happy with them for sure. I am still surprised how bright they are.

Hi Tex. I'm curious how your paint has held up on the sides of the truck due to the +25 offset that allows the tires to stick out three quarters of an inch. Any increase in rock chips on the sides? Thank you!

Do your wheels stick out past the fenders?

Hi BW. They stick out the exact same amount as Tex's setup which is about a quarter inch outside the fenders. Thx

Are you getting rock chips etc from the wheels being pushed outwards?

Hi BW. My apologies as I should've been more specific. I haven't mounted the SCS Ray 10's with Ridge Grapplers as of yet as Spring is just starting. I was mainly trying to be proactive and not reactive when it comes to any future rock chips. Some say that fender flares are needed even with only a quarter inch protrusion, but I thought that Tex could answer that first hand. I would rather avoid purchasing flares, but not if the paint will get destroyed as black shows everything. Thank you again for the help and advice as it is greatly appreciated.

Well guys - it’s been real. Had some decent equity built up on the truck (it was a lease) and after weighing the pros of buying it out v. moving on - I transitioned into a 2024 4runner TRD Off-Road Premium.

That being said - wheels are going up for sale $1600 obo for all 5 (yes, five). Will post FS thread soon.

Thanks for being such a well organized forum w/ so much self service information available. Maybe see some of you all on the 4runner forum!

Hate to see a great truck go, but congrats on the new purchase! At least you're still in an enthusiast Toyota, this is the way

Thanks! Already have some things in motion for this thing!

Ironically sticker on this was almost identical to what I paid on the truck 3 years ago. :eek2:

For some reason, I keep getting a "Post a valid title" error and can't make a FS thread yet but here they are:

I have a set of 5 18x9 +25 Method 305 NV Matte Black. 4 of them are mounted on 275/70 Nitto Ridge Grapplers - 1 wheel never mounted. 2 of them have small rash areas. Tires have about 26K miles on them (one of them has a plug - ran this way for about ~10K miles w/ no issues).

    Located in Northeastern PA
    $1600 obo
Willing to meet within 1.5 hour radius of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area
Willing to ship at buyers expense
