Man this thread is a great read! Tasteful build and still doing plenty of truck things, excited to see what's next on the suspension. The 8112/8100 combo makes a pretty strong case! Been oogling over them myself. Be safe, and we'll stay tuned for more!

Checkin in. Not much adventure stuff lately. Kids in sports has left us almost no Spring or Fall weekends to go backpacking or truck camping. We were going to camp last night, but with the severe weather that was coming in, we decided to just do a day trip today after the storms passed through.

Loaded up the family, the dog, a bunch of food, chairs, fishing poles, and all three of our kids’ kayaks.

There are three kayaks in my crewmax shortbed here:

Truck is still humming along with no issues. Just rolled over 76k miles. Still threatening to redo the suspension some point soon. Just haven’t had time to do much of anything to it.

Putting this here as a reminder for myself:
-need to drain and fill coolant when I get a chance
-replaced front pads recently. Should probably do rears in the not-too-distant future
-another transmission fluid drain and fill is due in 4k miles.

No. I won’t do it around here. $3k before tax is laughably stupid to me when I am providing all the parts. I’m widening my search. Driving a few hours each way would be worth it to me.

    Love LBL.

You venture down some of those trails? There are so many I have trouble keeping track of them.

There are some pucker spots for sure.

Yes there are a bunch. I have tried some but have never been with a second rig to pull me out if I got in trouble. We went down one a couple of weeks back and my wife was definitely puckered:rofl:

After keeping an eye on the weather over the last week, we decided it would be a good idea to take our kayaks back to LBL. This time we went with two other families in a stock 4Runner and a Tremor F350.

The other vehicles did not go through the mud holes. After seeing how deep the rut on the driver side was, I don’t blame them:

The Tremor really isn’t much wider than my truck; just taller and quite a bit longer. He didn’t have any problems on these trails, but he did take every available bypass.
    IMG_6203.jpg

Tremor looks just massive next to my truck. We’re on the same exact tires (285/75R18 Duratracs).

My kids did make fun of his old man tailgate step.

Almost no one was out here this weekend. It was supposed to rain all weekend long, but it ended up barely raining at all. Felt like we had the whole park to ourselves. My buddy’s daughter said it was the best day of her life. Ha. Maybe a little dramatic, but it was a good day.

    None at this point.
Yeah...my last domestic truck was a Ford King Ranch.
    Beautiful Truck!!
The only thing that sucked was being afraid to spill anything on the saddle Leather seats.
I solved that problem by rolling it multiple times heading home from the local watering hole at our weekend place.
The cab was crushed to bed level except where I was sitting.
After that I knew Ford Trucks were cursed.......

Looks like we had the same idea with LBL and kayaks! Was also concerned with the rain but ended up only sprinkling for about an hour Saturday where we were and headed home on Sunday around 12 for a Memorial Day party that evening. It poured the whole way home though. Glad ya'll got to enjoy it! My daughter loved the kayaking but now she wants me to get a big boat so we can go out in the big lake lol.
