I don’t even recall how old that post is, but I haven’t seen it updated. So my guess is that they’re sold.

So my alternator died while out driving at lunch yesterday, i managed to get the truck restarted last night and get it to my parents house. Called the dealership yesterday after i watched the video on replacing it and inquired about the cost of replacing it. They quoted me $400 to replace the alternator with only 2 hours labor. This morning i had it towed to the dealership and a different service writer goes to work on it. He calls to tell me the manifold has to come of (which i did not see in the YouTube video i watched on it)and it should have been quoted to me at $1000 just to replace my alternator. So now i am stuck with the tow bill and trying to figure out how the hell the quote is $600 off from the original and its now 5 hours of labor. Has anyone else had this issue?

Buy an alternator and go up there and change it in the parking lot, tell em to stuff that extra 600. Should just need some jack stands and a couple simple tools

So update they charge 6 hours labor to replace the alternator on a 2012 4.6 and the alternator alone is over $600. So looks like I'm setting a go fund me account to pay the stealership for my bill

First of all u got ripped the fuck off. I paid $250ish? for an alternator and installed it myself. Manifold does not need to come off. You access the alternator through the passenger side wheel well. Power steering pump needs to be removed cause it sits in front of the alternator. I wouldve done it for you for a six pack and dinner lol

And i would have took that offer was i not in a bind to get it done asap. I knew what it took to change it when i saw the youtube video, but i am on the go 14-15 hours out of every day with work and commute so it would have taken me 3 days to finish it. That's if i have all the tools i needed could break the bolts loose on my own and drank a half a bottle of whiskey. Not to mention sitting in my driveway out in the elements trying to make the repairs.

Finally put the fender flares from @Omohundro on tonight. Took a little longer than expected because running all the door trim tape. I’m happy with the outcome though.

beautiful pics. I grew up in Nashville and moved out to Denver almost 2 years ago. I recently made the switch from Tacoma to Tundra and loving it so far.

For any of you who ever make it out to CO, give me a shout. Would love to show you all around.

I can't swing it. I have only been in mine since March. It wouldn't make much sense to trade already. I do like the upgrades though. I didn't think I would care, but I was mistaken.
