I loaded techstream v12 on my windows 8. I attempted to register the software and it wanted password and ID# Every time I try to connect it does the same. I went back to configure the settings and found that it was set as a dealer. I changed it to persona l user and I'm stuck. Do I need a new key? Can anyone tell me.

Where did you get your ver 12 from ?....it should come with instructions !

    One important no no
    1) disconnect from Internet before running Techstream

try the below in the box next to New Key:, it's universal

    1111111111111111111111111111111110001511111111

    Edit....

If it were me, I would go to the below post, download ALL the files of ver 13.00.022 that @tinyt1553 is linking to at that google drive shared folder.

    Toyota Techstream software

I would then remove your version 12 and reboot, then install v 13. One of those files you download is key.txt that has instructions.

So I tried it last night. I loaded the v13 after I removedvthe v12 version and doing the same. Asks for the key for software registration. I enter the universal key and it asks for the key again. I appreciate any help.

    What version of Windows....XP, 7, 8 ?
    32bit or 64bit ?

Did you uninstall the MVCI drivers that enables the cables drivers when you uninstalled v12 ?
If you did not uninstall drivers, simply reinstall the MVCI drivers you initially installed. As part of that install is the file IT3System.ini that over rights the same file that Techstream installed.
One main point when installing for first time is to always install Techstream first then install the MVCI drivers. That let's the MVCI driver install overwrite the files in Techstream it needs to over write.
AND do not be connected to Internet....good luck !

One good bit of good news though, my wife says I can trade it in for a newer used tundra. I hate too cuz it's played off. But it's one thing after another with the light panel. It runs great since I put the SIS bypass on.
