I haven’t made it that far. From the videos I’ve watched, I’m supposed to see and select things that I can’t get to appear.

None of the shit that was supposed to happen with this pile of crap has happened, other than I paid for it all.

Sorry guys, I know you’re all trying to help. I just don’t get it.

I think I’ll go pick up a new laptop tomorrow if I can get out of the office early. Seems like every time I’ve had trouble with something on this machine people tend to blame it on Win7.

Ok let's start from the beginning. Did you download and install techstream? Are you have an issue activating?

    Examples of troubles:

trying to open up a virtual box. Got it downloaded and try to start a new screen. Can’t get past here:

    image.jpg

From VXDiag’s site, the Toyota Launcher Patch Download doesn’t work.

    image.jpg

I did get Techstream V18 downloaded, but can’t do anything without registering for real (at least from what I can see). But, I cannot ever find this stuff:

    image.jpg

I can get Techstream on my computer, but cannot get the other files that should accompany it.

Yeah, I think I did, but I have to navigate so many screens and pages that I am unsure exactly what I have. Currently have uninstalled exerything.

A better place to start would be to ask if the Nano should have software with it. I’m trying to get it to do something before messing with Techstream, but when I plug it in I get this:

So you downloaded techstream and ran it as administrator. The program will load the software and you will have a link on the desktop. Double click and techstream will run. Did you fill out the Techstream configuration page with the dealer code that was provided to you? Did you then send in the software ID number to get your registration key?

Hey guys, I can setup a loaner laptop with TIS V18 amd the connector and have it shipped around, granted you pay for shipping both ways and send it back after you use it, so other can use it as well? Will this be a good idea? I don;t mind at all.

That’s a nice idea, but my preference is to have my own so I can make changes when I want.

My troubles have been narrowed down to a bad patch link. VXDIAG sent a new link, which had also expired.

Trying another route, I made an offer on some eBay shop for Techstream with a login key, but he blocked me when declining my offer. Rumor has it that another member here had offered the same with success, but it’s not enough now! I messaged the seller to unblock me for full price.

Hoping to either have a patch that works or a sale from eBay today. Yeesh. Why can’t things just work the way they’re advertised?

Set up a different account on Ebay to make the purchase if you can't get him to unblock you.

You just need to download the software? I think I have all you need. Let me gather everything for you and find a place for you to download it? Give me a few ok. If you haven't done it before it can get tricky between the drivers install and configuration, just FYI... :)

I only need the patch that was supposed to come with the Nano from VXDIAG. waiting for a response after the second one was expired and couldn’t download.

it appears that I have everything else.

Worst case, I make a new eBay account and pay for it that way. Just pisses me off since I didn’t get what I paid for with the Nano.

if you have what I need, I’d gladly take a copy. Let me know and I can PM my email.

Why are you using VirtualBox in a windows laptop? Can't you do a straight install in windows OS? Now I am confused

That’s a good question. I’ve heard so many opinions and “sure-fire” fixes, it feels like I’m working with gypsies! lol.

To be fair, I haven’t used the virtual box. Can’t get it to work…

Currently waiting for Vxdiag to respond via WhatsApp. He emailed me another dead link for the patch about 15 minutes ago. Swears he can make it work via WhatsApp…

Ok, let's start from scratch. What windows OS version do you have and exact hardware device you have from Vxdiag? Send me some links please so I can try to help you.

    Win7 pro. 64 bit I believe.
Downloaded V18 Techstream from VXDIAG’s site. This appears to be good.
Downloaded VX Manager from VXDIAG. This also appears to be good.
I have a Nano VCI from VXDIAG. It connects via the VX Manager, I believe. Whatever the system actually is, it appears to connect fine.

From what I can see, I have three options.

Purchase a Techstream license. Nope. Not for what I want to do…

Purchase a hacked Techstream with login key through eBay.

Wait for VXDIAG to actually get me a patch that isn’t expired so I can use the software I already have downloaded and installed.

I’m on my phone now and left my spare laptop at the office today. Not gonna try to track down links at this time, but I sure appreciate you trying to help! Thank you.

Looking at your post history I think you have everything you need. For some reason your driver for the nano didn't install and TIS can't see the open port.

Try it again and leverage this video, it will help you with the steps which are very similar

Another option will be to ship everything to me and I can set it up for you?

Or if you can open Remote Desktop over the internet so I can log in and help you set it up?

The patch is all I’m missing, and vxdiag sent me another link last night via WhatsApp. If that works, I’m in.
If not, I like the remote login idea a lot…

Will advise on how it goes today with the latest bit from supplier.

I just downloaded the patch from their device link. It worked for me. Is only 7 megs and I can email it to you? Make sure to disable antivirus when you do all this work.

Who can call me right now and walk me through this? It has got to be something so simple that I’m missing!

Brand new computer now, and still having a rough time.

if you can make it work, I will 100% pay you.

So I got my Techstream 18 running but when I connect to the truck I get this 2 errors? Is this normal? It connects fine if I go offline. Do I need to be on a wireless network for this to work?

    1. Network connection unavailable, you have so many try bla bla, like 24 try, se attached picture

    2. REDUCED FUNCTIONALITY -Techstream was unable to access the network. - Some information may not be available. Go Offline Mode

Normal when your not connected online. Techstream wants to contact mother Toyota to access TIS. If you choose offline mode it works fine but techstream can't check for calibration module updates. In your case you can connect 23 more times then you will have to go online then the countdown starts again.

Has anyone one here gotten a VCXNano to work with Techstream?

I cannot get it to connect toa vehicle. Techstream loads fine, USB communication initializes, I select my vehicle and then it just shows the loading/connection blue bar thing forever. The VXManager shows that everything is connecting and working fine. I've tried reinstalling everything and double checked all the settings, but nothing works. Seems like no matter what I do, Techstream will not see the vehicle with the VCXNano.

I have been using V18.00.008 with a Mini-VCI (x-horse) cable that I got from Amazon a while ago without issue prior to this, so I'm not completely clueless when it comes to using Techstream and getting around the activations. Wondering if the VCXNano is just a garbage product/software?

Did you install the driver for VCXNano and set it up properly under Techstream settings? Make sure it points to the the right device / driver in TIS.
