    See fine print
The JL sub is what supplies most of the bass. The components are just for mids/highs. If you like bass you should get a sub/amp.

You can do it. Like any project just make sure you have the right tools. Or run it to your local audio shop and have them throw the amp and sub in.

Thanks! Really looking for more bass and volume. I have Canadian TRD Offroad non JBL. Maybe I'll pickup his amp/sub kit first and see how I like it.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

Really when you get down to it no one part is harder then another it just takes time and a little homework. When I started car audio we didn’t have YouTube or James at tech12 so your already light years ahead. This forum will get you real far and James in the man if you buy from him. He even helped me with something that did not come from him. That’s the kinda guy he is. I ordered the infinity group buy and plan on installing myself once I receive and install I am more then willing to help you out with pics tools or advice.

^^Thanks for letting me know. Didn't know about that other GB. I checked out that other GB and might got that route if shipping is reasonable to Canada. Sounds like this might be more of the route I should take!

Also if you email him directly...and explain what you are looking for, also letting him know what you currently have (You want to keep Stock Non-JBL Entune HU in a 2019 CrewMax) he will piece a kit together for you, and believe me all his pricing is "group buy" pricing.

Broke a tab off on one of the mids trying to plug in the harness.

What taps did you use for the tweeters in the sail panels?

Man that sucks about the tab....yeah those were hard as hell to get the connectors on those tabs, I had to put my thumb under the tab and push the connector on as hard as I could...was a PITA!

Friend, you can do it, it's not hard. I did my amp and line out converter myself with help from folks here. Here's mine for reference.

yes if you are using your factory head unit then a DSP/LOC is necessary.

I ordered the Infinity Kappa 5 package from the group buy and also ordered LOC w/entune harness as it was recommended. Wasn't really sure what it was for.

If you are talking about the harness-it allows you to just unplug the factory amp and then plug the harness into the amp plugs that taps into the factory wiring and you don’t have to cut the factory harness to wire up your DSP and amp.

It will. It turns the wiring around to rca’s for the amplifier.

    Link for these harnesses?

Are the harnesses only for certain amps?

I believe it works for any amp that you want to run your door speakers and sub if you add one....it, like stated above plugs into your stock harness which allows your amp to receive the signal from your stock HU.

Just an FYI - on my install, this is the harness I used that plugs into the 2 factory plugs from you NON-JBL amp under the front seat.

Can anyone comment on these LOC's? Is there a major difference between these two? I know with the one @purplenova has, it can be used with multiple amps. Other than that, is there a difference in the processing and overall sound?

A LOC or line out converter converts a high level signal (speaker) to a low level signal (RCA).. so not sure it would make much of a difference in processing.

A DSP or digital signal processor contains hardware/software that allow you to electrically manipulate the signal by adding things such as delay to certain channels, parametric equalization and active crossovers..
Two different devices for two different purposes..

Sorry didn't really answer your question in the differences between the 2 LOCs, but trying to help.

Major difference. The audio control is an LOC on steroids. The other is as bare bones as it gets. The AC lc7 Allows for far more fine tuning and cleaner signal. It allows provides a high preamp voltage which is essential in noise reduction. The audiocontrol unit also will take front and rear channels and will sum them to produce a dedicated subwoofer channel.

Two totally different pieces of equipment here. I’m running an lc7i myself and it sounds great even with stock headunit.

FWIW...in the very first post of the K170 in the front door you can flip the speaker adapters around so the K170 is further rearward which positions it centered in the hole in the door panel. As it’s pictured, ⅓ of the speaker is covered up because it’s positioned too far forward in the door panel hole.

Why would we need to break the back off the factory tweeter and plug it into the factory harness?
