It sucks waiting, but you know it’s a solid artist when they are booked a month + out

Damn! Very impressive work. Did you design your pieces or was it mostly your artist? Either way, the 3d effect is spectacular. So much depth!

    I like the ink.
    I love your hair..

    I'll play on posting tattoos...
I have so many I lost count.
Several pieces finally pieced together on my upper right arm to make a quarter sleeve..
Arms, back, chest, side pieces on the ribs (those hurt the most), all over.

My last one I got in Hawaii a few years ago on my left arm.
It covered an undesired tat from years ago.
Ironically is was the same artist that gave me my first tattoo in 1980 in Tyler Texas.

Yeah he is super talented. (Alec Turner who owns Black Label Tattoo Collective out of Eugene, OR for anyone wondering)

He’ll be fully covering both my arms, back, sternum, side/hip/booty/thighs, and my stomach. I have appts booked pretty much every month or less from now until the end of next year.

The tiger/woman was based on another tattoo that I saw and liked, but had him make the female side much more feminine and the tiger more fierce. The hourglass concept is mine and he and I sat down for a day while he designed it to my specifications. The Roman numerals under it are the date that my very dear friend/lover lost his life last Summer. I told him I wanted a skull/rose design on that hand and that’s what he designed and I approved immediately on seeing it.

The anchor on my left hand and then the nautical inner forearm is something that we sat down and designed together. The detail and how 3D it looks is amazing. That arm will also get a Dungeness crab on my outer forearm (I ocean fish and crab a lot and my sign is Cancer which is a crab), a badass fish Skeleton or mean looking Angler fish on my bicep, and a ship/sexy pirate chick as the main piece on my arm up to my shoulder.

I followed his work for a couple years before deciding on him as his style is exactly what I want. (And then had to wait a year to get in to him because of his demand). I know that I’ll get the best work if it is in a style that he’s the best at. And I know I’ll need to let him have artist freedom in the process. I’m the first person that he is covering completely, so he’ just as excited and enthused as I am, for this project.

Thanks. I change the color often but right now it’s kinda fun being gray. I did it a couple days after learning that I’m going to be a Grandma come December.

    Dammit girl..
I don't know what to say.
    You look great...

On to a couple more tats....
I'd never get a GF, wife, or woman's name tatted on me.
But, your kids will always be your kids.

Daughter's first concert was Green Day..
God that must have been 2004 when she was 10..

    100_0996_r1_9d7a3eb8ace2adc964c07675d68a2d5b6c74e70b.jpg

My son drew this when he was around 12.
I got it tatted on me a couple years later.

    100_0167_575d3c956f41ff8f51877117f02682cba9c7e669.jpg

Although I don't have a tat with my wife's name...
I do have a tat that refers to her..
When I tried to piece all my right arm stuff together, I got 'A Deal is a Deal' worked into it.
We used to tease each other saying that over the years.
We got it engraved inside her wedding band when we married on 07/11/2007 in Negril Jamaica.

    101_0001_r1_028a63c639d2d4406fe9d7a6e0b1c883449c0f0d.jpg 100_0999_r1_a59d3efe66c77367e5b17e5415abbc1418086735.jpg

We hit 13 years in July.
I'd like to get some kind of 'Texas 13' tat, but I haven't found anything I like..

The kiddos tats are adorable. My Husband and I just hit 18 years this month. (I understand that might make my comment about the memorial tattoo confusing. We might not have a traditional marriage, but it’s a damn solid one)

Oh and thanks for the compliment :)

Yup. My 22 year old son (who is a certified Toyota Mechanic) is giving me my first Grandbaby this Winter. We have 4 sons and the grandbaby on the way is a boy as well. I’m honestly not very girly, so this is perfect. I’d have no idea what to do with a girl.

I think the reason why you folks got tatoos is more interesting than the tatoo itself, because I ve never understood why one would do it in the first place.

People get tattoos for many reasons: for attention, self-expression, artistic freedom, rebellion, a visual display of a personal narrative, reminders of spiritual/cultural traditions, sexual motivation, addiction, identification with a group or even drunken impulsiveness.

Tattoos are a tradition that go back thousands of years. The oldest discovered proof of tattoos dates back to 3250 BC.

Tattoos are a form of enhancement. People see it as a way of taking the blank canvas of a human body, and somehow making it better. It’s very similar to anyone going on a diet or getting plastic surgery in order to make themselves look and feel better than they did before they got a tattoo.

Some people mark themselves for life to remind them of past family members or ancient sayings or religious scriptures or names of their current family/love interest. Other people use tattoos to enhance their sexual prowess or feed their exhibitionist side, and many people use tattoos to visually promote their identity and/or group affiliation. "I stand for..."

researchers have found that tattoos and other body modifications were rated as more likely to be thrill and adventure seekers.
Both men and women had higher body appreciation, higher self esteem and lower anxiety right after getting new tattoos.

The artist I use actually volunteers his time to add ink to cancer survivors, especially women whom have had full mastectomy.
When able he will cover scars and give the appearance of nipples on those that can get augmented.

Only because I can't think of anything I want on my body permanently. I love looking at the artworks others have and hearing the stories behind them.

Some of the worst tattoos I've seen have the best stories ever. :D "So no shit, there I was on a Navy deployment in Thailand with a bottle of rum in one hand and a Thai girl...I think she was a girl...in the other...."

Yea, I appreciate the artistic value as well but just haven't seen one or thought of one that I had to have personally.

The ink reacts with different light spectrums, such as black lights. My artist just started doing this type.
