Good deal, i ended up paying $100 more for a nice one that appears to have perfect leather. It gets delivered today and hoping to get it installed tonight.

I was happy to jump on the price as the condition was much better than others at the same price point or higher, until I found that one. Oh well, can't win them all. Save some here, lose some there.

It does look like the 4runner steering wheels have an extra piece of metal at 12 O'clock on the steering wheel. It looks like this can be unbolted as the extra metal piece doesn't match the steering wheel metal color. Your install should be easier since you don't have to switch over stalks or the steering wheel buttons if you prefer the darker metallic grey.

I’m not sure what piece of metal you are talking about... hope I didn’t get to quick and order a wheel that will not work... that would suck balls..

I found one listed on Car-Part.com from a 2018 tacoma sport listed in grade A for $100. The sports have leather steering wheels. The cab doesn't show any broken glass so less chance of scratches. You could contact them for better photos.

The vin shows only 38k miles on the wreck so should be lightly used. Don't know if the link will work"

Lets just say I had some time to wallow in my "average price" purchase.

This piece, in the tundra/tacoma there is just a plastic wire retainer/guide. On the 4 runner, there is this extra metal piece. The part number for just the wheel is the same accross the tacoma and 4runner so it should be removable. Others have installed the 4runner wheels on tundras and into SR tacomas with no issues.

Super easy. Unhook negative battery terminal. Use a trim tool, pop the square pieces of trim on the left and right of the steering wheel.
This will expose a T30 screw on either side. These release the airbag. Airbag pulls straight out. Use a flat blade screwdriver to release the clips on the airbag and unhook the terminals. Remove horn wire. 19mm socket to remove the steering wheel. No puller needed, it will wiggle right of. Transfer controls over (6 or 7 phillips screws). Repeat in reverse.

Bumping this up, just swapped a wheel in mine, is off center to the left. Attempted to counter adjust the splines one to the right but no change. Is the fix for this just to get an alingment?

Alignment will never hurt. Was your steering wheel straight prior to swapping? If so, might try adjusting the fit again. Make sure wheels are straight.

You can adjust your drivers side tie rod out 1/4 turn and the passenger side tie rod in 1/4 turn to bring it back center, or you can take it in for an alignment.

Straight-ish. Honestly it seems like Ive seen a lot of stock Tundras with a little bit of an off center wheel. Mine was pretty close, now its visibly to the left.

Call them and pick it up, or like I did pay for it over the phone with a small extra charge for shipping and most of them will ship it to you.

Found one on eBay for $100 in great condition. Easy swap and really makes the truck “feel” better. Add in the nice TRD pro shift knob and the main two points of contact in the truck really improve. Highly recommended.
