i received and installed the steering wheel today. Very easy to install, took no more than 20 minutes. Love the leather and only $150. No brainer!

Looks awesome, shame on Toyota I wonder why they still use the other cheap urethane option in premium models. I guess SR5 and PRO should come with this steering wheel from factory.

It's really weird that they put the awesome red leather stitched leather in the PRO, but leave leather off the wheel. DUMB.

I've got a lot of buttons, can't find a Tacoma that has similar buttons.

You don't need a Tacoma steering wheel with the same buttons. You move over the airbag and controls from the Tundra steering wheel to the Tacoma steering wheel.

I'm seeing the same thing. You can also look for Tundra wheels that came out of a Platinum or Limited.

The high price of a new wheel is making me reconsider the Amazon cover.

True, but the price also includes a brand new OEM Toyota steering wheel and we have a local guy here who used to wrap wheels for Momo back in Italy. He hand does every single wheel. After I put one in my personal truck, it changed my whole prospective.

Unless the Tacoma has Lane Departure and adaptive cruise control button slots I don't think it will work as a simple swap. The new 2019's (which is what it looks like he has) has all that safety crud on it and it makes for two additional buttons on the lower right arm of the steering wheel. The issue I've found is most of the steering wheels appear to be lacking the safety control buttons on the lower right arm.

Are these for the 2018 and earlier that do not have the safety sense related buttons on the steering wheel or are there some for the 2019 steering wheel layout?

It doesn't matter how many buttons are on the Tacoma steering wheel, I actually bought mine w/o any buttons or trim pieces. You pass that over from your tundra wheel. The only thing you need is the actual steering wheel, no trim pieces, no buttons, no screws, no plugs etc.

OK.. didn't realize that the silver parts were also just a housing that could be transferred over and that all wiring needed would be in place. May end up trying this myself as I do prefer a leather wrapped steering wheel but the price I got the SR5 at was to good to pass up, even though it didn't have some niceties that many want.
I tend to keep a vehicle for 15 years or so, so resale value is not really high on my list of requirements when I purchase something. ;)

I tried the loncky leather wrap, it was way too cheap and ripped too easily for real leather.

I will have to try the taco steering wheel option later. Who am I going to bid against here? :fistbump::boink: lol

Won't be me for a bit. My next hit is going to be the stabilizer bars (front/rear) and then bed rails. Momma keeps me on a short leash right now since "You got a new truck, what more do you want" is the refrain I hear frequently. :D

Lol . Dude I just got that same speech from the wife .

    They just don't understand

In fact, she says "Why do you need to do that, you just bought a new truck, it's not like you got a used truck!" lol. I will paint my handles and do a few small mods only for a while... gotta stash my lunch money aside LOL

A bit of a headache for some in terms of installation and configuration, getting things to work right, comes with no instructions. Help is in that thread and on Facebook.

No issues with mine, does big screen Waze, Spotify, plays vids for my kids, etc; HVAC, reverse cam, and steering controls work. Better sound quality than the factory HU. It’s basically an android tablet integrated with the truck. Connects to your existing radio harnesses, 1/2h-1h install. Playing with settings may take a few days like when you got an iPad for the very first time. Oh, and it does CarPlay with a dongle sold separately.
