I totally disagree with you. Some people may need to watch videos but detailed written instructions have always worked for me. They should have been included with the product. How was I to know they would not be. Left me scrambling to fire up computer and try to find on their website. It is not a simple task to find instructions on the Taco Tune website. They need a separate menu choice for instructions. I had to ask how to find the test tone download.

You'd get torn up in a court of law on that one. First, the mention of "up to 10 days" doesn't mention that this only applies to the orders using free shipping. And before you say the sentence is in the free shipping section, trust me, you need to be specific; otherwise, that sentence will be misinterpreted. Guaranteed. The next sentence continues the mistake made in the first, because it makes no mention of both of the actions that when combined will get the order to the customer faster; order processing time. The obvious thing, that paying for shipping gets faster shipping is mentioned, but not the other factor; faster order processing. And because this factor applies to every order but the free shipping variety, you need to spell it out.

Let me do you a favor; if you continue to stick to your guns that a customer screws themselves by not reading Ts and Cs, at least have defensible Ts and Cs. Replace the bolded line with:

Processing time for orders that use free shipping can be up to 10 days BEFORE the item leaves our warehouse. If you need your item quicker, please consider any of the paid shipping options, as these are processed before the orders that use free shipping. We get the order out faster, and the delivery time to you is shorter.

    Boom.

I figured you would. You have people giving you customer feedback that would improve the experience with your company, my suggestion would take two seconds to copy/paste/implement, and you stick to your "I'm right, you're wrong, and we've installed xxxxx stereos, so there" comeback. Pretty smart fella.

I'd tell you that disregard isn't spelled with a hyphen, but I'm not an English teacher, so you wouldn't listen.

Is that a threat? You'd lose that one too; what I was offering would fit under common sense business practices. But you be you, I'm out.

Earlier in this thread you stated, in a court of law . . then proceeded to offer legal advice. I was kindly informing you that offering legal advice is illegal. Anyhow, thanks again for all your "great" and enlightening input. Good luck with your Tundra.

    A simple question...
How much shit needs to be thrown back and forth until someone finally walks away?
Neither party in this argument is going to see the other's side. So someone needs to just grow up and walk away. It's pretty easy to do. Just stop typing in this thread.

I was reading this thread yesterday while grocery shopping with my wife. We were heading to a local audio shop afterwards to pick out my Christmas present (new sound system).

The goal was to gather more information on ********* prior speaking with a local shop about the pros and cons of ordering the kit from ********* for local install vs sourcing the whole system and install local.

I was truly on the fence, with probably a slight lean towards ********* because of the positive feedback in this forum.

Ultimately I went with the all local option for the convenience and the fact that I like dealing locally. I’d be lying if I said that @tacorob didn’t turn me off with the tone of his responses.

@tacorob - I don’t know about the legalities of the situation; but I have been in a customer service position in multiple industries for 25+ years. I would suggest that getting defensive and argumentative about a service issue does not benefit your business. The best thing you could have done would be to apologize for the misunderstanding and offer to make it right. If the customer isn’t satisfied you’re not going to make it better by arguing with them.

Yes I know. But the point really isn’t about accountability, it’s about being open and clear so your customers know exactly what to expect without having to read the fine print. Especially something like this that can be fixed with a simple one line phrase under the free shipping option. We all know truck owners are a little crazy and waiting for truck parts is excruciatingly painful.

I ordered something for my truck a few months ago. (Not from *********). It said estimated shipping was 7-10 days. After 2 weeks, I called and asked why it hasn’t shipped yet. They said the ship date was an estimated date. If it’s an estimated date, just put 10 days. If you put 7-10 days, it makes it appear that the estimate just means it’s in that range. As early as 7 days and no later than 10. I understand the wording could mean both ways, but it would’ve been nice if they were more clear about it. Ended up taking a month and a half. I almost lost it. :D

Still getting an audio upgrade. Just not one from @tacorob. You could’ve handled this differently. You guys cancelled his order on the 8th day. You should have just said, “We will ship your order next business day.” You were already on the 9th day coming up. Customer would have felt better thinking he moved up on priority and you would not have to change anything.

Dick move to cancel on 8th day. You will continue to lose customers if you keep reacting this way.

The Taco Tunes website is geared 100% to sales. It would be nice if it was easier to find installation instructions for each product. Videos are great to watch in your living room but not always the best when doing an install. I I think someone at Taco Tunes just wants to show off their GF. I just happened across the tuning instructions for the 8500 but my home printer will not work with my new laptop. Now I cannot find them again. Tried to chat with them earlier but they were no help. Oh well they got what they wanted.

I hope you are referring to the OP. I was done until I saw an email on this subject in my inbox. Yesterday at lunch I watched the tuning video and took notes. I had to take notes because Taco tunes decided it was not necessary to supply written instructions and their website sucks when it comes to finding anything but products. The longer I had to write the more I fumed.
