Oh I understand what they are meant for, I am just telling you a dealership has no need for ramps

If they needed to duplicate an incline, you just use the lift to lift the front end

And dealers should be doing this TSB no questions asked for customers that request it.....as long as it's under 3 year 36K warranty still

I was just going to ask if they need to replicate it with the TSB, I can guarantee it's happening - I see it with my own eyes. Just happened yesterday. The dealer said it would be an hour to diagnose, I am going to be pissed if I sit there for an hour and the end up saying they can't replicate it, only 15000 miles so still under warranty

Worked at Firestone for several years in college where we had jack stands and a jack for the odd scenario where they may be required.

Lifts don't cover every scenario and sometimes you have to improvise...

Also, the service guy got back to me, they couldn't replicate the issue but found the tsb and flashed the computer anyway.

I am glad they did the flash, as they should under warranty.

We have a floor jack that we will used to get a car on dollies and into the shop, but we do not have jack stands/ramps..

I had never read this thread until tonight. Interesting. My 24 model did this a couple of weeks ago after sitting in my garage overnight. 3/4 tank when I parked it, full the next day. It's two years old with 39K miles. I guess this is the first time the conditions were exactly right for it to happen.

Over the two years I had the issue a half dozen service writers denied knowing of the it. They’re taught not to admit to anything otherwise first thing we’ll do is say “…well Joe Blow in service told me it’s a known issue!!”

Any reason not to ask for the TSB service even if I do not know if my 2024 has the problem? Of course, I would report that it is a known issue and the TSB service is warranted. Isn't it like keeping your truck always at the latest revision level and up to date?

I don’t care. A set of ramps is very cheap. The dealer is claiming they don’t have the capability of troubleshooting a warranty issue. That is total horseshit.

The real BS is They don't believe it's happening. Do they think we enjoy coming in to sit around while they screw around with troubleshooting? For an issue like this, just apply the TSB and move on. Like I said before, print the TSB then escalate the the general manager if needed.
