I had a shop install mine, which took 5 hours. It's been 3.5 weeks with absolutely no issues. The biggest issue for me is to not get a speeding ticket.

I'm sure atom will have a good perspective, being that he installed it himself.

I would most likely get a shop to install mine as I just don't have the time for any projects lately due to work. How much did the Harrop run you out the door if you don't mind me asking (SC + install total)? I plan on doing the same as Atom and running Stage 1 until the guys at OV can crack the 19s/20s. Spoke to them and short of an annoying ECU swap, may as well just wait for them to break the code. Just curious how the SC can run seamlessly with a stock ECU tune.

I'll DM you a copy of my receipt. Since I ordered directly from OV tuning, the price includes the 2018 tuning kit, shipping and Tax.

I ran the stock tune for a week, and the truck ran flawlessly. I wanted a custom OV tune since I'm definitely upgrading to Stage 2. Plus, I wanted my transmission TCU fine tuned.

According to Harrop, the 2018+ Tundra ECU's can accommodate the forced induction. Also, for 2018+, the installation includes modifying the fuel regulator to increase fuel pressure. Essentially, the 2018+ ECUs are "smarter" for lack of better words.

You'll be more than happy with the stage 1 setup

You rock. And I wont be happy until I'm throwing rods through the hood. Definitely will want to get my hands on stage 2 w/ tuning hah.

Wish I could supercharge mine. But wife would kill me. Waiting on hp tuners to release the 2019 tundra tho. Can’t wait to mess with the truck. Got a supercharger on my xrunner tuned with hp tuners.

Thanks. Install was easy. I did it myself with my daughters helping out. Took me a week. The instructions are not clear in some parts, but if you are someone who works on your truck then you can figure out easily. If you are having it installed then it is a breeze. Make sure all parts are there in the kit before starting (I had a part that was sent out separately). If you are doing it yourself then let me know I can tell you all the missing instructions. The SC is awesome :). I have had it on for about 2 months now, no issues so far. The truck feels great, It will be hard to drive a non SC tundra anymore.

Works well on stock tune? The service manager at my dealership (taking advantage of free oil changes) was bullshitting with me and kept saying theres no way itll run off a stock tune well. Hes also a dealership service department manager so I trust him about as far as I can throw him. Once I get these gears and LSD in, it will be SC time.

I've had a Toyota "Service Advisor" give that opinion, too. I pivoted immediately and asked him, do you have experience with Harrop's TVS2650 platform? He said, "No, never seen one, but I've seen a few TRD supercharged Tundras come through" Then I proceeded to show him my Harrop, running a stock tune (at the time). Then pointed out data from Harrop to back that up, including showing him the fuel regulator modification.

I didn't hold anything he said against him, because most folks are very suprised that the 2018+ ECU stock calibration works exceedingly well for the S1 setup (It clearly states that no calibration is required for 2018+ in the installation manual).

My initial experience with the Harrop stock tune, was, holy shit! The truck ran super smooth, power for days...

Yeah I'm 110% sold on the Harrop. Just need to get these gears and LSD in first...and we are trying to move into a bigger house so a lot going on currently lol. But it is in the cards by the end of the year.

I have the Auburn..just havent settled on gears yet. 4.88s is closer to stock configuration mathematically, but I've read the 5.29s doesnt necessarily change too drastically and always keeps the option open for 37s in the future. Probably 5.29s. Read a post from @dirtydeeds where he explained why 5.29s are the better choice regardless but I cant find it now

    I have 4.88s, but wished I would've went 5.29. Yeah, I think <100RPM isn't an issue at all.

Update: Dropped the Tundra off this morning around 9am. Driving around in a 2020 Silverado :anonymous: until it's finished from Enterprise. Last minute asked them to throw on an ARB Diff Breather Kit that has also been sitting in my garage for a while since I didn't have the time to install it. Shop said they'd give me an update later today. Hoping it's finished tomorrow, but may not be ready until Thursday with the additional items that are going on. They were doing my supercharger install and starting another today as well for an FJ.

It's a good thing I don't see many shops in the Northeast do supercharger installs. Otherwise, I'd be more in debt.

    Hey Midway,

Any more info on this? Im really curious what youve heard. I do know the 2018 ECU's are different, larger space for one, but I have not heard anything specific about the tune being any different as far as fueling.

Does Harrop not offer a "non-tune/stock tune" version for the 2017 down? Interested to learn what they are doing specifically to get that extra fuel.

The resident expert would be Chris Mentrup. He's been great to work with. Just give him a call, or shoot him an email (see attached photo)

For the 2018+, for their stage 1 setup, no replacement high flow injectors are required, and the fuel regulator is modified to increase fuel pressure, which, for some reason, it's 2018+ specific (No ECU calibration required).

For 2017 and prior, their stage 1 kit will include the larger injectors, but no modifications are made to the fuel regulator.

Chris will better explain this. :)Screenshot_20200219-111201_Outlook.jpg

Thanks man. Ill shoot an email over. Interesting stuff for sure.

I would think larger injectors on a stock tune would cause a pretty significant increase in fuel use.

Well, I guess I'll need to wait a little longer. Just checked in for an update, they are hoping to finish the blower today, then will be doing the suspension work tomorrow.

Make sure they check the boot is drilled out for the fuel regulator vac line.

Hi Guys! I'm happy to see some Harrop content in here. I'm glad to answer your questions.

This is true larger injectors will not work with a stock cal file.

We do have a few pre 17MY trucks running stage one with stock Cal. This seems to work with all 5.7 trucks but has only been tested as early at 14MY.
