Is anyone by chance a windows guru? I've been a die hard Apple user and I need to pick up a windows based computer that's dedicated to tuning, ecu flashing and data logging for racing. Anyone have any suggestions? I've ran windows on the mac before and I'd rather not destroy my personal computer again lol.

Tuning - USB directly to ECU running a piggy back into the main harness plus a seperate usb plugged into the auto tune collective lambda port at the end of the exhaust

ECU Flashing - USB Direct to ECU no piggy back.

Data Logging - Memory card reader. Compact Flash Cards

Need at least 3 USB ports since all of these will be happening simultaneously. ECU flashing for trackside services usually runs in the background while downloading auto tune mapping and or uploading a new map/troubleshooting it to the main ecu while going over the data logging from the track with the tech.

    Check my post above..

Panasonic toughbook all day long man..

If running three usb you might be able to use a usb hub to help things along and simplify things..

This is specifically for bikes. And it needs to be fast, some of the ECU's we flash will "brick" themselves if the computer cannot read all of the data in time before it's entry lockout procedure kicks in. Then an ECU is toast. So speed is relevant. I.E. 2016 ZX10R's suck balls.

We've tried the tough book before in the past. And had horrible results as for read speed with the ECU's. Awesome for dat a logging though! Are they upgradeable as far as ram goes? Need atleast 16gb to run everything smoothly. atleast that's what we needed when I ran windows through parallels. Not sure what would be needed on a native windows machine.

Usb is only so fast.. usb 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0.. of you need fast data transfer 3.0 but only of the device you are plugged into is a 3.0 of not it defaults to its standard.

Everything we plug into is 3.0

This is the part where I do the dumbfounded look. Tons of options and I'm thinking just pick one and hope for the best? Return it if it can't do the job? I appreciate your help mike. The tech in these bikes is seriously starting to get out of control. All of us are needing to pick up faster computers just to manage the ECU flashing side of things.

Each one is different on the toughbooks.

If you need 16 gigs of ram you are into gaming computer laptops at that point..

Alienware(Dell)... PAY OUT OF THE ASSHOLE..... Azus GOOD FOR THE MONEY... makes very good one.. I had one for 4 years run like a champ and FAST..

The one other part I think may or may not play a role depending on if we use the mac or not is live streaming through the wifi network we setup through the bike directly to youtube.

I'm thinking 16gigs of ram would be better, since the last time I used a pc with 8 gigs of ram it froze just opening up the ECU to rewrite launch control and traction control algorithms.

Pretty sure I'm going with this one. Seems like best bang for the buck. What do you think?

Sweet. Thanks for the help mike. Should I be worried about the brightness in daylight? 284 nits it says and my macbook is constantly at full brightness rated at 389 nits?

Keep in mind I get about 5mpg in the city and 10 hwy. between 100-200 miles per tank running 91 plus octane booster with every fill up. No replacement for displacement. Just keep in mind your bank account if you want it as a daily driver lol.
